Safari on iOS 16, especially 16.1, has been a nightmare for me with so many crashes and websites that are unable to load. Website data and cache wipes don’t help. Hopefully a fix is on the way.

And there people claims safari is the best browser out there?
tbf this one is a bit random and doesn’t break anything critical really. But to say safari is “the best” way overestimate their capabilities and code qualities.

Do those other companies constantly gaslight you on how much they care about your privacy like Apple does though?

This has nothing to do with Apple, it’s JavaScript and Web2.0 technology. It’s standardized across all platforms.

The JavaScript is reporting back what you type into fields while you type - you can’t really change that without breaking a lot of websites.

I use StopTheMadness and it does block that behavior if you want it to. Works great but does break a variety of websites.

That’s the website’s fault, not Safari’s or Apple’s.

Before you blame a company you should understand how the thing you’re complaining about actually works.

Apple *does* have some explaining to do about the recent discoveries about Apple devices phoning home with identifiable tracking data - that is real and a huge problem.

But how the broader web works has very little to do with what Apple says about privacy.
