The only problem with adding a G4 into an imac is that if they start near the 1GHz barrier then there will not be much room for future upgrades (at least using the G4)

Is it just me or has everyone forgotten that IBM was developing a chip 1 year ago based on PowerPC G4 architecture that was rated at 100ghz and were expecting to roll one out in a year! WELL GUESS WHAT! Its a year later and they were saying it was for home computers NOT SCIENTIFIC SUPERCOMPUTERS!
IF APPLE PULLED THAT OUT OF THEIR BUTT THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!!!
And more than that they were talking about 200ghz developed on a "unkown" platform but had to do with macintosh. G5 ANYONE?!
THAT WOULD BE AN AMAZING ANNOUNCEMENT!

except that you have to remember all the other things that factor into the speed of the chip-especially bus speed. and by the way, it was motorola, and they were developing a 60-70 gig chip, and it was about 9 months ago

Any chance that greg godwin is undercover from Apple, here to throw off the scent of what is actually going to be announced?
If Apple want's my hard earned money for their already very overpriced products, they better give me the G5 or nothing, cause I won't buy it!
At the very least, the "new"G4 better top out at 1.5ghz/ 266mhz frontside bus/DDR Ram,because anything less is OBSELETE!!!
I use my computer exclusivly for audio production, and I can and will use every bit of mhz/bus speed that I can get my hands on.I am a pro user who needs high end pro products,so please don't even bother trying to sell me bells and whistles!!! eg.(ibullshit)

Here is why Steve Jobs moved his keynote and what he is going to announce. Too late, Bill. Too late!
DURING HIS KEYNOTE at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week, Microsoft's Bill Gates will demonstrate the AirPanel 150, a flat-panel wireless monitor from Viewsonic that allows users to carry it from room to room.

That and MONEY.... it shorely would not be in their best interest to release as they produced or they would not be milking the market. Also, with us heading towards the fastest processors able to be made very fast they need to make sure they keep releases at a rate so that something like Quantum computing can move into a stable phase and be ready for release after the smallest silicon processor is produced.
