At first I thought both iOS 4 and iOS 5 had the same set of fonts, except the Noteworthy font looked different between them, turns out, that there was no Noteworthy font in iOS 4, it was Chalkboard, which got replaced by Noteworthy, why couldn't they just keep both and have 4 fonts to choose from?
Wrong. iOS 4.2 had Chalkboard. It was removed in iOS 4.3. Don't go blaming iOS 5.x for that. The last version of iOS 4.x and the current version of iOS 5.x have the exact same Notes fonts.

Aren't there more important things to worry about than this nonsense?

1) In my opinion, the address bar fade in looks MUCH better than three dots.

2) I've never hit the Music Store button. You mention that if you go fast you might hit it... Then Slow down. Seems pretty obvious.

3) They changed the font in iOS 4.3, so I'm not sure what this has to do with iOS 5. The notes app sucks anyways, Evernote is better.

4) Neither mine nor my roommate's iOS 5 devices have blue borders.

5) The Slide to Read text is aligned properly. You don't measure in respect to tall letters and low hanging ones (q, p, g, etc).

All of this stuff is very minor (except the blue borders, which would be annoying, but you're the only one experiencing this), and I don't see how this could possibly "ruin" anything.

Edit: Looked at the Slide To Read thing again... It's how it's supposed to be.

dude holy **** do you really care that the notification is misaligned by 1mm? you dont like what the font looks like? .. etc etc

Might as well invent your own damn phone then

i really wish my phone was made by a company called Raspberry not Apple...........................

The only thing here I have to comment on is the slider or "dot" for videos (poster talks about youtube). Grabbing the dot to ff or rw videos seems much much much more difficult to do on my 4S than it did on my 3G...which is absurd. Obviously not a deal breaker or I wouldn't still have the phone....but there is definitely somthing amiss with the video slider.

Another person who doesn't have the Blue Borders mentioned by the OP. Checked both the 4 & 4S, don't have the 3GS handy.

As to the other notes, yes I'd prefer Chalkboard over Noteworthy but as noted its been gone a long time now.

I prefer the faded in Safari address bar to the ...

No, no, I know how to change the fonts, it's definitely changed.

No, you have put the lines in wrong on the slide to read picture. The lines do not go to the top of an l, d, t etc, you need to lower the lines. Its even, think about it.

also i have no idea what you are talking about with the blue lines, they look exactly the same.

1. That's not a save button in the music app it takes you to the iTunes store.
2. The picture you showed is not the actual photo app it's the wallpaper in settings app.
3. The fonts in Notes have always been changeable.
4. As for misalignment in notifications, it's actually properly aligned, it's called proportionally you measure from the center not the tops of long characters.

I have no blue frames in either my photo app or my wallpaper selections, the font ony notes is the same as its always been, Noteworthy. As for the store button, they are a company trying to make money and I guess the easier they make it to get to the iTunes store the better for them. You tube app has always kind sucked.

For someone so focused on details you need to focus on your details a little more.

I also really really hate that they added the Store button in the Music app because I'm always tapping the buttons there to go back and then I tap the Store button by mistake

3. The fonts in Notes have always been changeable.
Actually, without jailbreaking or a convoluted international keyboard swap, they have only been changeable since iOS 4.2. Prior to that there was no option to change fonts--and the font was Marker Felt (unless you used a keyboard that required unicode, in which case the font changed to helvetica since Marker Felt is not a unicode font).

Also, beginning with 4.2 the default font was Chalkboard, with Helvetica and Market Felt the other choices.

In iOS 4.3 Chalkboard was replaced by Noteworthy.

in IOS 5.x nothing new was added or taken away.

There it is, the entire history of the oh-so-important Notes app under iOS.

BTW: There were only 3 1/2 months between iOS 4.2 and 4.3.

Does anyone find it strange that someone so concerned about the minute--if not invisible--details of graphic design drew an arrow that looks like it was drawn by a pre-schooler? That ruined it for me.

Michael

Are you kidding me? I don't have to be an artists to point out crappy artwork. I always hate this "if you don't like it, let's see you do better" attitude people have. I don't have to be able to do better to be allowed to think something just isn't good. By the way, this is also why I PAID for my phone and didn't build it from scratch myself...

That said, I have no issues with UI myself.

Never used the Chalkboard font. No blue border in Photos. Prefer the fade in Safari. I don't even bother looking at the "slide to" positioning.
