The Music app still does not support playback of FLAC files - this is par for the course for software written in 2001 but in 2022 it can probably just be considered broken/nonfunctional. Doesn’t serve the needs of the modern music aficionado. They’ve completely neglected the music side of things. No wonder why iPod sales stagnated so much they had to discontinue the whole line of a once iconic/revolutionary product.

Always curious why everyone defaults to Spotify. Youtube music app is fantastic and includes youtube premium for the same cost as a regular spotify sub.

Also honorable mention would be Pandora Premium (they are owned by SiriusXM now and might give you other perks... Havent looked at in a while, but also a fantastic service).
I have YouTube Music via Premium, but I hate the interface. Just not a fan. Spotify is the gold standard for a reason.

I'm all for you loving it though! I wish I did, would certainly save me money lol.

You're getting mad at the wrong people. It's streaming. This is what you get. If you don't want hiccups like this, buy physical albums. Because as long as you're tethered to the internet for music, you're going to deal with its inherent headaches.
It has nothing to do with "streaming." Spotify goes down as a whole when AWS goes down, but its app is not inherently buggy at every turn like Apple Music. The iCloud sync is absolutely horrible, and the apps (especially the desktop apps) are extremely poorly written.

Didn’t think anything of it considering my HomePods always tell me “sorry I’m having a problem connecting to Apple Music.” When it’s paired to my Apple TV as a speaker… at this point I just accepted apple can careless to fix the bugs

It's a little funny to see this article directly below the "End of an Era: The iPod lineup is no more" headline. That's what I like about iPods so much, all of the music is stored locally, there are no subscriptions, and no downtime when the service or your network falls apart.

I can't see myself being tempted by other services until they come out with equivalent lossless support for no extra cost. IMO, Apple leapfrogged the competition in terms of cost/feature ratios with that move.

I'd like Apple Music to be more stable, but it isn't nearly bad enough to cause me to jump ship.
If only it was supported by Apple headphones, like AirPods Max, even with a wire… if only, then I would remotely consider it. Yeah, Bluetooth is guilty, not Apple, but I wonder where is the mythical hardware, software, services integration in this case?

Yeah, down on my end. LOL. This headline could be a running status for Apple Music. If it’s not repeating songs within one or two plays, it’s just playing the music in my library. Like, why am I paying Apple to shuffle my music? Sometimes I get new/unknown artist exposure, sometimes not. Inconsistent. Not bashing it, or trying to, but man, it sure feels like one step forward, two steps back sometimes.

I love Apple Music on Apple TV. Great with the lyrics and background coloring. But the Apple Music app on the iPhone is an abomination. Apple nowadays seems to be blinded by making money instead of focusing on producing highly qualitative functional tech. Lose the greed and bring back Apple perfection! Please!

Yeah that is ironic. For the average Apple customer who uses AirPods, lossless — Music’s greatest strength — doesn’t matter. The fact that AirPods Max can’t have a standard analog connection like most over ear headphones is particularly frustrating. (I might consider purchasing a pair if v2 fixes this.)

Lossless makes the biggest difference for me when listening through my (wired) klipsch system and when I (occasionally) use headphones wired.

It's hard for me to tell when the problem is Apple Music or that Siri just sucks. I guess it was Apple Music this time.

I wish Apple would put more effort into Apple Music. I feel it's not up to their usual standards.

This reminds me of a talk that Steve Jobs gave to his staff regarding iTunes. I don't remember the exact words, but I remember the jest. He asked the group, 'What is iTunes supposed to do?'. A few employees responded with seemingly correct answers, and he replied, ‘Then why in the f**** doesn't it do that? Unfortunately, I can't find any clip online to prove that he said it, but I remember it.

Listen to Led Zeppelin's first album (loseless). Got freaked out at the crying baby! Looked around my dark room expecting to see a baby!

At least it wasn't the 36 hour long blackout of MS XBOX LIVE! On a friday night, game night sucked last week!

I like using Apple Music, i just hate using the web client & iTunes for Windows doesn't play nicely with some of my local files.

Thankfully, someone in another thread mentioned an alternative Apple Music client for Windows called Cider. it's in alpha, but it works better than Apple Music's web client & has some stuff Apple's web client doesn't have. like Lyrics & Apple Podcasts for example if you're the kind of person who likes to listen to Podcasts.

Spotify is nice, but it didn't take me long to miss having Lossless audio quality on what i add via Apple Music.

I experienced the suck-age. Hey Siri - play Foo Fighters.... two songs and hang. Suck U apple

How about how it frequently tells me content not authorized when I play a song I looked up. I hit play three or four times until it plays. Then on the Mac I constantly have to reauthorize my downloaded music. Literally every single time I open it.
