I've tried so many time to use Apple Music , but this app is just bad , simply bad.
I wonder how many users they would have if it wasn't installed on every iphone and mac sold in the world , probably not a lot.
Spotify just works , ok I know they don't pay artists well , but it's actually not my problem , it works and it is all I need.

The only issue I have with Apple Music is that it exists.
Absolutely anachronistic interface. Basic stuff is “just not working”.
If you are a fan and know no better ks ok, try other apps.
How can you listen only to your “favorite” songs easily in Apple Music?. You can’t!!!.
If I ask Siri to play my favourite songs, she does.

Or she gives me the weather, a list of websites, or directions to a shop 400 miles away, depending on her mood.

But that’s about the quickest way I’m aware of to start playing my favourites.

tried listening to the radio as normal this morning but got a reponse "sorry theres a problem with apple music"...

so in the UK at least theres still a problem.

I used to quite like Apple Music right up until I decided to allow my subscription to expire and take a break from it for a while. At which point it instantly obliterated my purchased iTunes library on all my devices. It decimated my albums, splitting them into two and deleting tracks. You name it, it did it. Left a trail of destruction in its wake that wasn’t the work of a moment to repair. Suffice to say I will never ever use it again. Ever.

It just works my ass.

I have this issue when I add a song directly to a playlist, without adding to my library first, the song won't show up on the playlist, and as soon as I add it again, the song is added twice. It's so frustrating how bad Apple Music works even in the simplest things.

Apple Music is experiencing an outage at the current time, which is causing the streaming music service not to function as expected for some subscribers.

According to Apple's System Status page, Apple Music has been experiencing issues since 1:17 p.m. Pacific Time, with the page suggesting that some users may be "experiencing intermittent issues" with the service.

iTunes Match and Radio also appear to be having problems at this time. We'll update this article when the outage has resolved.

Update: Apple Music is once again working as intended and the outage has been addressed, according to Apple's System Status page.

iTunes Match has always been had a problem. It’s useless!

I think that AM is one of Apple's biggest clusters, worse than Apple Maps. Such a strange and inconsistent experience with bugs sometimes, and playing to my HomePod where it starts playing songs from another family member's playlists while they aren't even using their device etc, just as one example.

This app tries to do everything but doesn’t do anything right .
They should focus on only playing music , no need for gimmicks like Atmos or stuff like that , just play the music when we want to.

If only it was supported by Apple headphones, like AirPods Max, even with a wire… if only, then I would remotely consider it. Yeah, Bluetooth is guilty, not Apple, but I wonder where is the mythical hardware, software, services integration in this case?

Apple could have adopted aptX HD which can deliver high resolution Bluetooth (still not truly lossless). Qualcomm also announced aptX Lossless recently, which is bit perfect, but the chances of Apple adopting any new Qualcomm technology are very slim.

I wish you were right, but Spotify is not better in every way:

* Spotify still does not have lossless audio
* Spotify is not supported on Apple HomePod.
Another shortcoming, at least in my experience. I was a Spotify user for years. I transitioned to Apple Music after comparing them for about a year. Spotify was inferior at music discovery for me. It wasn’t bad but Apple Music seems to get my eclectic tastes better.

Some other differences with the Apple Music vs Spotify debate:

I've also noticed that Spotify has some albums that Apple Music doesn't which is a big deal for me. Secondly, in Apple Music you have to individually add albums to your library rather than just follow an entire artist. I love how in Spotify you get a news feed when new songs or albums drop from your artists. Apparently this used to be a feature with Apple Music but it was removed and not replaced.

I hope Apple corrects these issues as I would prefer to stick with them for the Apple ecosystem integration.

Agreed. Apple Music, Siri, and Apple Maps are not up to Apple's usual high standards. It's disappointing and there's no excuse given Apple's resources.

Apple Music (iTunes) on Windows is like an abandoned, abused child, and Apple Music (latest version on my M1 Pro) crashes.
