Here's the deal, I have a gorgeous 42mm Space Black Link Bracelet (May 13-27 window) and I'm getting insanely impatient (especially considering ZERO movement/charges/updates AND the fact that people are showing off their beauties left and right). I saw an ad in my local Craigslist for a Stainless Steel with White Sport Band for only $100 over retail.

I'm highly considering paying the extra money just to have something now. HELP ME PLEASE!! I'm going crazy over here!

if they bought it with the intention of selling...why are they scum.... its not like they had access to super power computers that let them order before you...
 
People here will cry fowl but in reality, if it is something that you want and don't mind paying the extra charge (~$100 is negligible, especially considering some of the marks ups I've seen on there), you might as well.

Though, don't forget that it is not the one you want and you will be getting yours eventually if you wait.

Your order will come sooner than you think. I guarantee it. Get the whole experience. Anxiously waiting for updates, for the truck, to open the box for the first time.

It's part of the fun.
Invest the $ 100 into another band. Or donate it to Nepal or something.

You should go for it dude. 100$ for 3 weeks of your time is great. It's what I personally did! I just ordered my link band separate. The only issue is that yours is space black so you can't really buy it separate lol. But please note that applecare+ doesn't cover additional bands; that however does not bother me as I'm not trying to resell the link bracelet and I'm happy to see it scratched for personal flavourrrr
 
Just lowball the seller for $100 less than his asking price. :)

Clearly, not all answers are created equal because you gave not one, but a series of bad answers.

OP, is your time worth $100? If yes, get the watch on Craigslist. Once that seller sells it to someone else, you're going to wish you did it 10x as bad.

Since you could get your watch as soon as two weeks from tomorrow and it is the coolest looking Apple Watch IMO I would wait.

But, if you have doubts also because of the price of your order, go for it!

I also agree with others that your time is worth something! Buy it and get the SS link later.
 
If you categorize them as "scum" then why would you even consider feeding the "beast?"

Yes three weeks of agony is worth $100, but I kinda agree with Karinatwork, it's the experience of opening MY watch up for the first time which will be all worth it once it gets here. The problem I'm struggling with is the whole 'waiting to get here' part!

Agree completely in 1st part. I was totally stoked I paid only $90 over for a 38mm SS Classic buckle. I was going to send a taskrabbit down at 5am to Maxfield but when I heard at 11pm the night before the line was at 60+. I cancelled. That alone would have added $100 to the price and my time is far more valuable than that. I had it day one and have been enjoying since. I will be even more stoked when my 42mm SS SB eventually arrives. Plus I will have everything down pat and like a new phone I hope it'll be seamless changing out. :cool::apple:
 
Don't do it - wait for the one you ordered. It's enough money that you should get the one you really want, not settle for something else just so you can have it now. It's amazing, you'll love it, and hopefully you'll get it much sooner than expected!
 
You've already missed the "first day" experience, so might as well wait for the one you really want.
 
Save your money.

Yesterday, I had a July watch move to late May shipping. I even got the EOD email confirming it.

Today it moved to shipped. Yes, shipped.

Apples estimates are F'd, or so it would seem.

Its only two weeks. Thats not that long. I missed preordering and now if I want that watch I'm looking at July although I don't think it would be that long. If you really want one order one of the sport ones that will come in a few days and then just return it at the end of the two weeks as yours will be ready. Take that hundred bucks and use it on something else for yourself. Dinner... movie.. iTunes
 
Having the watch (two of them, actually).. I will say it's pretty cool. However, not mind blowing or life changing. I think if I had paid more than retail to get it now instead of just waiting, I would have been sorely disappointed and regretted that decision. It isn't worth paying more than retail IMO.
 
i hate scalpers too, but i was able to sell my SG sport for $800, which is low compared to others. for that price, i would rather wait a month and buy a SS version. so keeping it would have cost me $800 in opportunity cost-didnt make sense to me
