Here's the deal, I have a gorgeous 42mm Space Black Link Bracelet (May 13-27 window) and I'm getting insanely impatient (especially considering ZERO movement/charges/updates AND the fact that people are showing off their beauties left and right). I saw an ad in my local Craigslist for a Stainless Steel with White Sport Band for only $100 over retail.

I'm highly considering paying the extra money just to have something now. HELP ME PLEASE!! I'm going crazy over here!

Hey if you do that hook me up with your Space Black Link! I'm sitting here with a July date so your dates would be pretty sweet compared to where I'm sitting. Guess I'm not really helping here just adding to the problem lol. In all honestly I think you should wait and get the one you want, it's just two weeks and months from now it won't matter. Sucks now but you can make it and it could be a lot worse.

Here's what I would do... Pay extra to get the watch. Then wait for your apple watch to get delivered, use it and then return it soon after 14 days. Bottom line is do not cancel, it's far too easy for apple. Enjoy your new watch, believe me 100 is worth the headache.

Having the watch (two of them, actually).. I will say it's pretty cool. However, not mind blowing or life changing. I think if I had paid more than retail to get it now instead of just waiting, I would have been sorely disappointed and regretted that decision. It isn't worth paying more than retail IMO.

How about selling me one of yours for retail!#

For $100 over I would do it. I paid $750 on launch day on CL for a $425 watch (42mm SG Sport). I then sold it on Ebay for $975 after I wore it 2 days. Tomorrow I get the one I originally ordered and I am keeping it. The almost $200 of profit went toward the SG Sport I am keeping.

Ok guys I think I'm gonna do it. $100 over retail for a SS with Black Sports Band. My Space Black SS is supposed to be in the May 13-27 window but I'm losing patience!

Really? You're going from a Space Black with link to a SS with Sports band? You sure you're not going to regret settling for your second choice when we're talking about only days left of waiting? I'm anxious to get one, too, and it's gonna be cool, but once you have it, you'll have it for a long while, so be sure you won't be wishing you'd held out for the model you initially wanted. That Space Black one looks SICK and will probably be one of the rarer more attention-getting ones out there, once you get it. Of course, if I'm late to the party and you've already decided, then enjoy.

That said, I haven't even ordered mine and am leaning towards the SS with Classic Buckle. Im between gigs right now (work on TV shows, between seasons now) so I'm trying not to spend too much, so I'm thinking that instead of caving and getting a Sports model now, I'll wait a month or so til I'm working and earning money again and then get the one I REALLY want. Just my perspective. And of course, this is as long as the feeling I have is that Apple Watch 2 isn't going to be announced before everybody gets their preorders! If Feb of next year we're seeing the Apple Watch 2 presentation I'm going to laugh at Apple making this thing out to be an "heirloom". I've had a couple Apple Store employees tell me that this is meant to be kept for a long time and would probably be more like Apple TV, which only gets revised every few years, and threw in "heirloom" into the conversation for good measure. Heirloom.

Lmao at Apple Store employees thinking they know anything- and you believing them. I know guys who work in corp dev at Apple and they don't even know anything about apples plan

Well I caved. I bought a 42MM space gray Sports Band on launch day for $815 on Craigslist. My 42MM SS Black Sports Band arrived a week later, and I sold the space grey for $800 2 minutes after posting it to craigslist. So basically I rented one for a week for $15 bucks.

Dumbfounded.

I'm not sure what is worse. That you paid $815 for the $400 sport or that you got someone to give you $800 for it. The Sport isn't even worth the $400 they are charging for it. The finish makes it a $249-$299 model at best for the 42mm. It is overpriced by $100-$150 before you add in the craigslist insanity.

Since you are buying from a 3rd party, you are not the original owner. I would worry that it would effect your warranty service and I don't think you can qualify for AppleCare+. If you get a watch from Apple and something goes wrong or you want an exchange or return it, there's no problems.

There other is reason is why throw away money? Of course, it's your money to do as you choose.

I ordered my space gray sports watch 4 long minutes after preorders started, so Apple scheduled my delivery for the last half of May. However, they actually sent it to me on April 29, 4 business days after the launch. Tim Cook told investors that Apple's working hard to ramp up production and says their goal is to start sales to additional countries by the end of June. So he's making big promises and I think most people will get their watches sooner rather than later.

The most stressful part of the wait for me was not knowing exactly when the watch would come —*I went crazy checking the order status over and over. It seemed like they would never send it and then one day — boom! it ships and arrives the next day.

Pretty sure I threw in enough "if"s in that post to indicate that I took what they said with a grain of salt.

You can qualify for both AppleCare and AC+ if you are not the original owner provided the first owner has not registered the device to their Apple ID. Even if they have, they just need to remove it from their support profile and you can register it to yours. Then all the same rules apply (1 year manufacturer warranty, can purchase AC+ within x number of days of purchase, etc.). Also, if they already have AC+ then that is transferable too, though that one is more common knowledge. Apple is very generous with their AppleCare policies.

Thanks, that's good to know. However, correct me if I'm wrong, aren't all Apple Watch purchases connected to an Apple ID since they're all bought online at this point?

Yes, with the watches that's the case. I was speaking on a more general basis with Apple products. You can easily transfer the warranties though. This is also useful if someone got a watch as a gift and it automatically tied it to their support profile.

Throwing in my 2c here. I've decided that I'm going to buy one on CL if I find one for within ~$100.

Incidentally, if any of you have an unopened 42mm SG Sport BSB ;)
