nope we just find what you said offensive, sexist, racists and rude. Many here have a good sense of humor the key being good sense of humor.
don't know how it was any of those things. if i said "there are forums for men who like skinny scandinavian women", would that have been offensive, sexist, racist, or rude? my point was essentially that the people that post here are obviously into their iphones, and we don't necessarily represent the greater population of iphone owners out there and that there's something for everybody.

eh, in any case, sorry if i offended anybody. i'll stick to (more) Rated G going forward.

Political Correctness is contributing to the downfall of society. I'd hate to walk around all day like i was constipated worrying that others might say an off-colored comment.

WHAT?! how can you find any of those things in his comment? He didn't throw any type of of slurs or derogatory comments. He could've said people "who eat mayonnaise with a spoon" it was a general statement about what some people might be interested in and might not, hence; the forum topic, going with or without a case.

I think you need to calm down, stop reading into things that aren't there and maybe go take a class on reading comprehension.

Now onto the OP, I had my phone naked for years, never really had a problem with breaking/dropping it. I recently started getting into cases more for a look. I currently have the SwitchEasy CapsuleRebel...thing is absolutely awesome. It was cheap, has tons of extras and provides awesome protection!

Anthony81586 was referencing that post (#2) as well

can you respond my post (#27) and let me know how i was being offensive, sexist, etc. in any way? i intended to have it read like how Anthony815 interpretted it, but apparently several people thought otherwise. i didn't think i left it open to THAT much interpretation, but humor me here...i'm interested in learning

Dude, I don't see how you did anything wrong. People are to serious and just look for reasons to look down their nose at you. They just need to get over themselves and spend that same effort smiling and enjoying life.

I don't know about where you guys live, but around me I can't remember the last time I saw someone pull out a naked iPhone. I always see them in cases, and it's usually one of those cheap Ifrogz jobbies:)

Actually, I've been using my 4 naked since I got it... or until the day before yesterday, when I took delivery of an ifrogz Luxe Lean (black).

I like the case a lot. It looks minimalist and slick. The look and feel is silky smooth. It goes in and out of my trouser pocket very easily.

... all for $19.99. :)

I am an extremely happy camper now.

You wash and wax your car to protect the paint.
You stain/varnish wood to protect it.
You buy a motorcycle cover to protect it.

Why is it so difficult to determine if you "NEED" a case or not? If you work in an environment that is more rugged or dusty, if you're a more clumsy person than others, or if you just want to make sure your phone will be safe then you should get a case.

Or if you have insurance and don't mind paying the $50+ deductible in the event of a drop then go naked.

For me, a $25 investment into an Otterbox Commuter has paid for itself over and over. I have dropped my phone a couple of times, both on ceramic tile which would for sure shatter the glass. Instead, my phone is unscathed. I also feel that the case adds a little more ergonomics to the phone and makes it easier to hold onto.

agreed...given all of the negative reactions, i figured it must've been something that I missed

as you said, it seems to just be a case of a combination of poor reading comprehension and overly sensitive PC-goggles.

I work at a dental office where we have super rich clients that drive Porsche GT2 RSs and super poor clients who walk to their appointments and average everyday people. and they all schedule their appointments and put them in their phones. My general observation is that the average middle class people who generally all have iPhones have cases on them because they don't want to shell out another 200 bucks if they drop it. Many of our richer clients do not use cases for the pure enjoyment of the superior design of the iPhone and richer ppl generally have the best of everything so if they drop and shatter the glass, 200-600 bucks is pennies to them. They have every tooth crowned and implanted at 2k+ a piece, what's 500 bucks?

This.
