When I come across somebody else's song that I like, I can use "Action: Add to List".

But when I have a tune of my own to add, the submission form says to search first to make sure the song is not already in the database. What if I don't do that? What problem results?

I will certainly search first if submitting duplicates causes a problem, but it's so easy to paste an iTMS URL into the "iTunes Link" box on the submission form that I'd find that easier than searching for the song and using "Action: Add to List".

if it's not obvious, you don't have to suggest new songs to add them to your list... you can add existing DailyTunes songs to your recommended list by using the ...

Yay, mine worked! :) So lemme make sure I'm doing this right, right? If type in a song in the search bar at the other site, and it doesn't find it, then I do the suggestion box?

The site will deny it if the url is exactly the same as one already in the database. Sometimes songs are in the iTunes database in multiple versions though... so I can't screen it easily. Which is why. nothing terrible will happen if you submit a dupe... but it will split the recs across two.

This new feature is pretty cool. It's interesting to see what music people are in too, it helps you get a feel for the person behind the username as well! Let's just hope music snobbery doesn't rear it's ugly head.

I'll be sure to sign up, it'll be the first time I've bothered to go DailyTunes!
