I'm not brining it on an air plane with me (I got headphones and an iPhone for that), I just want something with great sound for around the house. So I'm good with the weight... weight means more battery, which means more power to drive a bigger speaker for a longer time.
So the discussion is what’s considered as portable. And yeah, I am not listening to it on the plane lol. Got AirPods for that. But yes, I travel a LOT for work and spend a ton of time in hotels (to the point i trade Christmas cards with the bartenders), and sometimes I like some sound to chill by. So I currently travel with the Bose resolve, 1.5 pounds.
I can see how this at 6 pounds is fine with lugging out to the patio. Two different needs. Two different definitions of portable.
