Once again, Sony has no laptop of similar combination of size and power to compete with the Vaio SB except one - the Sony Vaio Z. And the better Vaio SA's specs is still unknown.

Damn that's nice. I'll wait for reviews and if they're good I'll give my base 11" to my sister and get one of those.

I have no idea why you would be posting that here.
It runs Windows.
There is much more to overall satisfaction than specs.
Sony has poor build quality and service and support.

Looks like it has a really high resolution.

Edit: 1366 x 768, that's it? The image of Windows 7 on the laptop looks a lot higher than that.

nice specs ... however only one problem ... Windows

I used to be a massive sony fan hence the name AIBO!

Then I got a Vaio

One problem? hmm....

BLOATWARE!BLOATWARE!BLOATWARE!...and if you do a clean install you lose half your hardware buttons or the webcam as sony locks them to the bloatware recovery disk!

They do EVERYTHING in there power to wiggle out of the warranty!

And the battery's fail and wont hold charger after 6 months and that's perfect timing as you only get 6 months warranty on a battery!

Alot of cheaper Vaios are not being made by sony any more but by cheep outsourced Chinese manufactures, like buying a cheep bosh washer then discovered it was made in spain by a generic washer maker and fails every month!

What Bloatware? There's an option to eliminate all bloatware in their BTO.

I don't think this Vaio is cheap.

Could you point me to that BTO option? I thought that was for the business or some special models?

NO but the cheaper vaios are apparently not made by Sony anymore!

If Sony was able to add an AMD Radeon™ HD 6630M graphic chip to their 13" I'm sure apple could have as well.

Great specs!

Only a dual core i5,i7 build to order!

Dont count on the 7 hour battery it more safe to say 3 in normal use! thats if it lasts 6 months before it dies! then its £300 for new one!

Though built in 3G option is great thats one thing that annoys me with apple in 2011 they STILL HAVE NO 3G radio built into the macbook pro!

Apple have one major flaw to sony they like thinness and hiding vents no doubt that sony will have an ugly huge open vent to dispel hot air!

the hinge vent in the macbook pro just don't cut it for faster GPUS!

+1 I don't think most of the people on these forums have ever owned a sony. I've owned 2 and supported roughly 2000 of them. Never again would I buy one.

No the Apple vent actually dispels more air. It runs the length of the back of the computer (Run something graphics intensive and stick your hand on the back, you can feel air blowing all along the back) verses one spot for a vent. Not to mention the aluminum enclosure helps keeps things cool too.

I cannot find that option for the UK site, but in the North American site, there's a "Fresh Start" option for all custom built models.

This is the Vaio S's custom model page in Canada. On the second page near the top (by clicking next step), you will find "fresh start", which will eliminate bloatware.

Theres an option but you have to pay extra for it. (Unless they changed that).

Also Mods my multiquote isn't working, it boots me out of mac rumors hence the three posts.

Funny I keep seeing threads with overheating issues! and so hot to touch there up to boiling point! it may dispel more but with increase fan speed as there is little airflow inside the housing! its why most gaming laptops are chunky!

According to this (the same chart many here use to prove HP sucks) Sony beats Apple: http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/17/laptop-reliability-survey-asus-and-toshiba-win-hp-fails/
