With all this talk about light and small but fully featured laptops I do wish Apple would pull out a Pro version of their 13 incher (you know...eh....Firewire and high res good quality screen)

I personally have a Vaio Z series and its a great Windows notebook. I think, hardware wise, it is the best 13 incher laptop on the market - fully featured, very light and has a complete set of ports unlike Apple's Alu Macbook. There is a huge thread in Notebookreview.com of people comparing the features of the Macbook and the Z. The thread is surprisingly informative and the people discussing the pros and cons of both notbooks are level headed.

I would think that the AW series is a more direct comparison and, after comparing the two, even with Sony's 18.5" Adobe RGB spec high quality screen, the Sony is still cheaper with similar or better specs, including blu-ray. That being said, I still went with the MBP. I went to the Sony Style store and they didn't have any AWs on display. I didn't want to spend $2500+ on something I couldn't see/feel.

The AW is too big... I'm not even sure how you consider that thing a laptop.

Yay! Thread revival for no good reason!

Well, I suppose spamming is a good reason for the poster.

I have a couple of Z's now, and while it is significantly better than any of Apple's offerings as a truly mobile 13-inch-class notebook, as is the TT in many ways, I'm not feeling the Sony love as much as the previous generation. Maybe it's the plastickiness of the new notebooks. I find the SZ much more dignified than the Z, and the same goes for the svelte TZ against the rather lumpy TT. Styling aside, both are much, much better machines on the move than any pretty junk Apple can churn out at the moment (and I have been/am an unfortunate but necessary owner of) - especially the heap of flaming uselessness that was the Air Gen 1 & 2. It is a shame they don't look better though.
