why is the Att one is more in demand then the verizon? i don't even know if i'm going to activate my 3g or Not.. i wouldn't mind trading it for a White WiFi only Model

The ATT iPad2 is essentially an unlocked UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA device which can be used practically anywhere on the planet. With a significant number of iPad2's being bought to resell along with the strong demand from the gray markets overseas the ATT and Wifi models would be in much higher demand. It wouldn't make sense to buy Verizon ones for resale overseas as they can't use the 3g radio in those. There might be other reasons but this is probably the #1 reason the ATT ones are so hard to get.

Because gsm is a world standard and CDMA is only in the US. When you eventually sell your iPad, the gsm version will be more valuable since it can be shipped off to some foreign country and unlocked from AT&T.

so i went to best buy today to Pre-Order a :apple: 16GB WiFi iPad2.. n they told me they are not taking pre orders anymore.. so i was kinda pissed off about it.. so i asked whats the chances of you guys having any iPad 2 in stock? so he said give me a sec.. goes in the back for a minute and come's back with a 16GB 3G (verizon) so of course i bought it.. :D

so it made me wonder.. are stores holding them back? or did i just get extremely lucky?

Well, to be fair, you did ask to pre-oreder - not whether they had any iPad 2's actually in stock.

Well here in NYC, the Chelsea Best Buy has a stack of folders for preorders, one for each model, that totals 5 inches thick. So my bad for assuming it was a preorder. But BB are still a bunch of ex burger flipping amateurs.

Apology accepted. Now just stop melting down, I see enough of that on the news.

Best Buy Sales

Went to Best Buy to look at iPad2 cases. While I was there a sales person was helping a man would didn't seem to have a clue about portable computers/devices but thought he might want one. The sales guy directed him to the iPad and demonstrated it. The guy promptly said that a lap top computer would do the same thing but would be cheaper. Detour . . . . sales guy took him over to the lap tops. Didn't stick around to see if the guy purchased anything at all. It just amazes me how someone could make a statement like that. A laptop computer and tablet computer are, well to me anyway, totally different devices and serve different needs. IMHO, it's sort of like comparing :apple: to oranges
