Sooo wait. MMS is a no-go on 2G phones?

    Yes, its all over the net. Apple cites hardware doesn't support it. That is obviously bollox.

    Clearly. But that's the way it is. There'll continue to be jailbreak options, I'm sure, for MMS, though...

    Sigh, and here I was fiddling with the carrier file trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.

    Oh well I'm sure once the Dev Team releases their update we'll have MMS enabled. Tethering too.

    Tethering over Edge isn't too bad if your desperate for interwebs.

    I have tethering working for my 1st Gen. EDGE isn't bad at all. I've used it quite a lot of times and it works fine for normal browsing (note: not for torrents or movie downloads) and music downloading.

    How you may ask? iPhoneModem zresly thru Cydia. Details thru the link in my signature.

    People had MMS working on 2Gs via jailbreaks didn't they?

    Yup, the solution was called SwirlyMMS. It's paid, but if you had desperate need of MMS, it is a good choice.
