I agreed with you up until this, which revealed you are nothing but a common thief.
Well it isn't actually stealing if I wouldn't have paid for the product in the first place.

I saw an anatomy app on the appstore going for over $50, my mate bought it and guess what? It was lacking substance like you wouldn't believe.. it did NOT live up to what it should have been, that dev wanted to rip people off and he did. He whoever made that app deserved to have his app stolen by a "common theif"

This is why there should be a 3 day trial period for apps. All these fart apps probably wouldn't or even ever be made then, as people probably don't use these crappy apps after 3 days. However, this would likely cause a large drop in revenue for Apple, so it likely would never happen.

I don't understand why people here insist on jailbreaking the phone. Why is it so hard to believe that somebody could fully enjoy it in its natural form?
Funny how you call Apple's handicap in it's "natural" form.

Imagine that you are only allow to download/install programs into your PC from one source, and you cannot change even the background. Anyhow, benefit of JB has been beaten to death. Some of you are just easier to please than other.

FYI, SBSettings have been downloaded over 600,000 times, that's how many people are at least enjoying half of what a "smartphone" suppose to allow you to do.

Are you ***** kidding me? This is your actual logic??? If I walk into a store and say "I wouldn't pay $20 for a DVD so I'll just take it", does that not make it stealing? You have some seriously flawed views.

Mine's been jailbroken for months, the only time I have ever restored was for an update.

agreed priceless diamonds are more my stylethough, "I'm not gona pay for it so ill take it" what was he thinking?

Man I had the chance to get my white iphone yesterday. My dad offered to buy it for me but I told him I would buy it myself. I was thinking of having my dad buy it and and I'll pay him back, but he wont take the money.

The point is that people shouldn't be suggesting this on someone's *first* day of using the phone.

He should have time to learn what it's like so he knows what trade-offs he's deciding between.

He probably reads "Background apps?" and thinks "Great!"

But give it 2 weeks and he might have thought "Hmmm, I only get 12 hours of battery life? Maybe I don't want to do something that will make that worse..." Or hey, maybe he'll be getting 30 hours of life and decide that it is worth it! I'm not saying he shouldn't do it, the point is that he should be making the choice based on HIS situation, not other people's.

Now, I have nothing against JB. Lots of people love it and it's great for them. But just like anything, it's full of compromises. Only someone who's used the phone for a week or so will know what those compromises are and if it's worth it for them.

That's my only problem with JB...the people who push it as if it's all "pros" with no "cons." Give the dude a week to learn his phone. THEN let him make that choice. He very well may choose to JB, but at least he'll understand what he's choosing instead of just blindly doing something without understanding what he's getting.

Well said.
I've heard just as many jailbreaking horror stories from real people as I've heard praises from people on this site.
Give it some time before you even consider it -- I've never jailbroken, and have a ton of fun on my iPhone. It's not as necessary as people on this site seem to make you think.

No one said it's necessary, and most certainly it isn't for everyone. In fact, I recommend most people that is on the fence or tech challenge NOT bother with jailbreaking.

I think I may jail break tonight!! I got the incase powerslider for Xmas...battery life won't be an issue anymore.

It's not just a cell-phone.... :D
The sooner you get that, the more fun you'll have with an iPhone...
