Sorry guys - AT&T will not support MMS or tethering until later this summer

This sucks. At the end of the keynote, they will probably say OS 3.0 won't even be available on ATT iPhones.

Thats a little dissapointing, since AT&T has been telling us 3.0 beta people they already support it.

Unbelievable how inferior of a company AT&T is. Just wow. Beyond words.

Tethering I can somewhat understand. But MMS? Just remove the block, for the love of God I can wrote the code to do it.

O2 was on the list of supported carriers. Even if they didn't, it would still be comical to watch people complain that someone got what they wanted before the United States.

Supported for MMS, but O2 have historically been strict on tethering as they offer unlimited data, and an opportunity to tether would put a massive strain on their network without them being able to recoup by charging us.

So? If 3.0 is released in July and AT&T support MMS/tethering in August, a one month delay and it just "kills" you guys for that? I think you guys need to step outside and enjoy life a little bit more.

It will probably be a £7.50 bolt on.

As a developer I can use ModSocks without jailbreaking. However the MMS thing does kinda upset me.

It sucks we have to wait, probably because of infastructure upgrades. But its not like all of us have the need to send tons of MMS messages. With my BlackJack, I probably only used MMS 5 times. I've never run into an incident with my iPhone where I wish I could send MMS (or receive).

Does anyone know whether Rogers (Canada) was on the lists of carriers supporting MMS or tethering?

ETA: Never mind! Found another thread.

Did you guys honestly think that AT&T was going to be nice about tethering? US Carriers have been dicks about tethering in general for a long time, especially because they have dedicated "tethering" plans that people are for some reason ok shelling out the cash for.
