I’m sure that Apple is dying to release these new products.
Well, it's all about the quarters really... not our quarters.. but Apples quarters... need to get those units shipping otherwise the shareholders will not be happy and be whinging. Tim tells them about Mother Nature at Apple... but they say speak to the hand, as the ass (face) ain't listening.

So we need updates on products and updates on sales, and then updates on quarters and if its not double digits positive its certainly going to be single digit negative when they kick them out the door and scream returns, returns, returns.

Hence...

We are so excited to see what you do with the new 'X' (because we really need that revenue)

X = iPad, MacBook Air etc etc

If a 2024 iPad Pro M3 3nm comes out I will buy one and will pass down my 2018 iPad Pro A12X 7nm to a user assigned a 2013 iPad Air A7 28nm.

That iPad Air received iOS 12.5.7 more than 13 months ago. Since last month we are currently on iPadOS 17.3.1.
3 nm? and if it isn't? thats very very specific....considering other aspects of the architecture can determine efficiency and performance.

I agree that architecture & other hardware choices impact raw performance, performance per watt and battery life.

I point out the tech node to emphasize the difference between product years without delving into benchmarks and other geekery.

M3 is a 3nm chip since 30 Oct 2023. I doubt Apple would bother with a 4nm or 2nm version of it.

I think the display at this point is the biggest power draw, especially in bright environments... advances in display tech will be next to extend battery life. The processors are idling most of the time, for most people.

there’s going to be mumblings of delayed shipments of Macbook Airs a good two weeks before any launch

ipads will probably “just drop” because any distributors are probably just sitting on inventory

Good for me then. :)

I went from 2013 Air to 2015 Pro because of redesign, multiple speakers, FaceID, all screen design, larger display size, more storage & USB-C.

I hope that the 2024 Pro will have 256GB storage as $799 default.

I also hope my telco will offer the iPad Pro WiFi SKU with a bundled 5G pocket wifi modem rather than WiFi + Cellular. I have one pending construction site that needs transferable 5G internet and I don't need an iPad with built-in 5G. Typical fiber contracts last 24 months.

Business plans in my country have the best financing of any smartphone or tablet vs personal plans, credit card amortization & Home Credit.

Communication is also a significant power draw, like if you have AirTags and haven’t disabled Find My on the iPad.

I just want them to announce either an M3 or M4 Mac Studio. I’m doing all I can to not run out and just buy an M2 Studio right now.

Is it an age thing that I don’t really care anymore? When I was a student like 10 years ago, it bothered me when I didn’t have the latest Apple tech. At this point I am not even sure if I have a Series 6 or 7 Apple Watch 😅
I think it’s because you became a dog.

The following announcements are expected in this March-April window:
  • Two new iPad Pro models with the M3 chip, OLED displays, a thinner enclosure, a landscape-oriented front camera, a redesigned rear camera bump and other design tweaks, and possibly MagSafe wireless charging
  • Two new iPad Air models with the M2 chip, including a first-ever 12.9-inch mode

Why would I want an M3 Ipad Pro instead of an M2 Ipad Air? Thoughts?

Ooh. I've been waiting for M3 15" Macbook Air to replace my wife's 13" Mid-2014 Macbook Pro

Its a downgrade in one respect - her ten year old MacBook Pro can drive two external displays, which she uses!

I feel like they’re putting all of their eggs in the Vision Pro basket, and that doesn’t mean anything to me frankly.
You'll own a Vision product in less than 5 years. Probably less than 3.

Apple already knows this, but for some reason you don't yet.

That's how this cookie crumbles. Right now you're the guy telling Henry Ford your horse is just fine. And the horse is... for awhile.

They go a whole year without iPads and their first release in over a year is done by… press release?

Apple has never done yearly iPad refreshes… the average is 480 days between releases for the Pro, and guess what? All that info is hosted *right here on this site*

Apple isn’t dying but I’m slowly becoming disillusioned with their products. I absolutely will not be going to Android though.

From my perspective, there isn't anything I really want from my M1 iPad Pro that isn't already there except for better software that's more open like MacOS. I'm not terribly interested in many of the new products because the current stuff just does everything i care for it to do already from a hardware perspective.

Patiently waiting for a M3 Mac Mini. Figure it’s a bad idea to buy a M2 model this late in the game.
Just wait and see what the difference between them really are.
When the M3 comes out the price on M2 probably gets down too.
Then all depending on your usage.

I havent decided whether I’ll buy a M2 or the coming M3 MacBook Air.
Not using it for anything heavier, but I figured I wait for M3 and then see what I will buy, depending on price vs. what I get for it.

Why do you care about how they announce the products? Not everything needs a big expensive announcement event.
