You are reading to much into it. It safe to say a majority want 4" or larger screen.

No, you're not reading ENOUGH in to it.. I'm not making assumptions for the rest of the population. What poll are you getting your ideas from? Or are you speaking for this so-called "majority" group with your own personal preferences?

Look at the top selling phone sizes for Android and Window Phone 7. You will notice something. They are all 4" or larger. That speaks volumes.

Reason those Android and WP were chosen as ones to look at is they offer stuff from the small to the large. It speaks volumes when the top selling phones are all larger ones. 4" or larger are top selling across the board.

Apple and Rim can not be used because they do not offer anything but the smaller sizes.

Are you taking in to factor any variables at all? i.e., Specific Device Model, Sales of Specific Device Models per Carrier, price per Device (in and out of contract), all in comparison? Only recently the iPhone has been available to any other carrier other than AT&T.

I am sure that he carefully controlled for feature, availability and marketing differences between different Android devices in order to come up with his lack of statistics to justify his claim that he didn't actually defend.

It's simple logic. The most popular phones are 4" or greater when you exclude the more popular phones that are under 4". Therefore, a majority of people want 4" or greater phones. How is that not completely clear if you don't think about it? {extra sarcasm tag} :D

Yea, my thoughts too haha

Not it at all. You just seem to be a refusing to accept apple is behind the times.
I stated the reasons the iPhone was left out. That is the do not offer anything but the 3.5 in format.

BaldiMac you own link to the android sit puts over 70% of android phones in the 3.8-4.3 range. Currently 4"+ market is growing the quickest.

But you live in the Apple can do no wrong world.

Just like you said how Apple does not offer anything over 3.5, Android doesn't offer anything new in the upper "premium" tier of phones that they have.. i.e., Galaxy SII/Nexus/EVO/Thunderbolt under 4"..

If iPhone was still only AT&T, i'd have a droid with the Verizon network.. That's for sure. In my area, AT&T sucks. I would have one of those phones listed as well, but not because of the screen size.. Because of other features, mainly speed.

I believe HTC stated in a release when ask why they had all their research shown that the large phones are what is in demand.
You Remember after first you had some 3.5 -4.3 high ends out there and the larger phones sold better. So much better that they stop producing the smaller screen size. Remember they did start at around the same size and only went up.
Simple fact is HTC, Samsung and others all figured out large phones do sell better.
Apple just tells you what you think is best and does not give you a choice. You have to settle for iOS.

Lets compare my Atrix 4g (4in screen) to a iPhone 4. Simple fact is HTC, Samsung and others all

Atrix 4.64 x 2.50 (117.75 x 63.5)
Iphone 4.5x2.31 (115.2 x 58.6)
So the atrix is .14" (2.55mm) taller and .19" *4.9mm) wider. I do not think you under stand how little it makes on it fitting in your pocket but you gain a rather large increase % wise in screen space.

You are not reading the chart correctly. You just made up the low end of the "normal" range yourself. It clearly includes 3.5" phones, although the exact numbers are purposely vague.

I am not refusing to accept anything. I am just asking for a source to back your claim.
