Ya I'll upload one tonight. I went to the apple store here in california. It is normal
Oh and yeah the band will get scratched no matter what. I would just deal with it. Applecare said the gap is normal and if your non OCD you will forget about it. Honestly IMO not worth the gas to the store.

Haha, Ok thanks. When you say "I checked with applecare", did you check with an Apple Employee, or Applecare over the phone? Its good to know its normal! Yeah, If i look at my phone from maybe 30cm away, or maybe less, you cannot see the gap at all. Yeah, I guess im just ocd. Thanks for the help
Only SOME iphone 4's have the gap. However, If they do, it doesn't seem to be a problem. Your verizon iphone might not have the gap at all.
I called and checked with employees. You should just keep yours and save yourself the embarassment of explaining it to them.
Update. Went to apple in sf and all 16 displays have the same exact gap. Even a genius had it too. This is a normal issue.

It's kind of hard bc my 3G can't get it. That's my only camera. But I know exactly where your talking about in the attached pic and what you described. Trust me I am OCD to the max and my gap is exactly 100% where you described. I can only put the corner of a paper in it. Went to apple and every single display had it the same exact length and width. 100% normal.
I doubt I would have ever noticed if the light was shining on it perfect ya know lol.
Yup just live with it. Or put a case over it and you will never think of it. Its really hard to see. I have to shut one eye to see it. But im not ashamed to say im OCD. I pay a TON of money for this phone so I can be OCD haha. But ya, 100% normal.

I can see it with 2 eyes in good lighting but thats if I KNOW what to look for. Go show someone else and they will never see it lol. but its normal so yup. Nothing to be concerned about.
I'm thinking of possible water-damaged when i see those gaps. There is gaps where it shouldn't be. and it could possibly get water-particles in there and mess with the hardware...
