A 5C with a white face would be a no-brainer for me. I have a white 4 and like the colour but I don't like the look of any of the 5Cs with the black face. Would happily snap up an all white example, or maybe even consider some of the other colours which I think would work well with the white face while they look pretty nasty with the black.

Or have the faces match the color of the phones.

But yes, white on black does look a bit strange.

When I went to my carrier on launch day to get the iPhone 5S they said that the only color they have left is the Silver one. I still don't have the model I want, Space Gray with 64GB. So much for Space Gray is most in stock.

Considering the 5C statistics I think it is quite sad how far gender stereotypes go. Oh and I'm wondering why there's no red iPhone 5C?
What's sad about it? People should choose what they like. Just because you think "stereotype" is a bad word doesn't mean I can't have the same opinion about a color as 20% of other men.

Thank you!! Just like the "more popular" black iPhone 4 ...that was only available in black the first 9 months

I believe it was still more popular after both were finally in abundant stock. So was the black 4s and 5.

Obviously, the early months wouldn't be valid statistically, did someone say they were?

I find it interesting that after all the constant insecure men posting threads on this website about whether or not buying a silver or gold iPhone is girly, we see that, with the exception of the pink iPhone 5C, the colors across both models are really quite consistent among men and women.

So you're telling me that the only color option Apple gave on launch day was the most popular?

HAHA!!! EXACTLY!!! Oh my gosh!! That was hilarious, but totally my point. Of course it's more popular when you only have 2 golds and 3 silvers and 200 space grey. Of course it seems more popular when that's all they have. Anyone els remember "the more popular" black iPhone 4? Then they released white 9 months later? Lol!

No,that was the funny part. They said on the keynote "available in the more popular black". Then once they got the color situation corrected they came out with the white like 9-10 months later. So my point is....obviously it's more popular when you've only got one choice. (Talking about the 4)

EQUAL interest between the sexes in the gold color???
So..... all the dbags on here w/ their rampant sexist commentary were TOTALLY wrong???!!!

Picture me not shocked at all.

I agree. White face on 5C would be much better, like the iPod Touch. Don't understand why they went with black faces on the 5C.

A 100% white iPhone would have been amazing.

Exactly, this entire story is laughably bad

Oh dear. As a male owner of a yellow iPhone 5C I appear to have inadvertently become an Apple hipster.:D

If and when I get a new iPhone the 'space gray' is the only one I'd consider of the current models… I wouldn't want a white or gold-ish iPhone, though they look alright to me, but I think the iPhone 5c is one of the ugliest (hardware) Apple products for a long time.

Still, horses for courses, good luck to people who like them.

I'm pretty sure they made more black iPhones because black is always the most popular, probably because some people think white is "girly".

OKay, so which one of you guys bought the YELLOW iPhone 5C? Lol.
I am one of the apparently rare males with a yellow 5C. But it was a choice of which color I disliked the least. I'd have preferred red, black, brown, tan, navy, dark green, and maybe more, had they existed.

Lots of assumptions coming from a "research" firm. Time to go back to college and try a research thesis again. Just because the space grey phone sold the most doesn't mean it confirms traditional gender biases. What a joke...

3rd person in line? Most people from the 3rd person in line to wanting to buy one today.

A lot of my friends have given up waiting for gold models they have had to go with grey ones.

The grey ones are stacked in huge pyramids in the stores, some silver but zero gold to be seen.

Good story though, totally true.

you nailed it.

This was in another thread, but I still think it's a very interesting point:

Wait until February. I'm sure we will see "new" colors released in February.

This is a common strategy of the Android phone manufacturers. Release a few basic colors at launch. Then, in a few month (or weeks), release carrier specific colors.

AT&T will probably get black. Verizon will probably get dark blue. Sprint will probably get garnet red.

... and why mine is white.
