i preordered SG.... but really had 2nd thoughts when i went in for my try on and saw the silver sport.... i hate shiny, which is why i don't care for the SS versions.... the matte/brushed finish of the silver is really, really pretty!

ultimately i stuck with my SG.... that doesn't mean i don't still drool over the silver when i see a realistic picture of it! (i just hate the band colors and don't like the idea of having to spend an extra $50 to get the band color i would have wanted to go with the silver...)

My dilemma is the space gray sport or the stainless steel. It's a tough decision. But I do like the look of the all black over the "chrome" finish. Decisions, decisions.

I have the same issue. Having tried on both models yesterday, I will say, the SS is beautiful. Though, I am now leaning towards the SG Sport model as it is much lighter and my intentions are to wear this while exercising. The SG with a leather band or the milanese loop can dress up this watch to wear for a more formal occasion and be able to get away with it.

I think the only reason Apple didn't sell this combo is because it would cannibalise SS + black sports band sales.

Yeah. Silver Sport + black band would have been their top seller. I didn't go with the Gray Sport because I figured it would be harder to pair bands with it w/o it looking weird.

I've ordered the Silver Aluminum Sport watch. By default I ordered the one with the blue band, however, I've also ordered a separate black sports band and a blue leather loop band.

From the mockups I've seen on mixyourwatch.com, both look great.

Went into the Apple Store twice now trying on different straps with the space gray sport. Was set on the brown leather at first, but then started doubting and considering the black or blue. Went into the store and tried the blue, and wasn't a fan. But the black leather loop with the space gray case is awesome! There was another employee standing near me while I was trying it on and he commented on how good it looked, and even said that it looks similar to the black ss watch with link band, but for less than 1/2 the price! We both agreed that is the way to go, haha. Some pics of the black/black attached below:

This sucks because I like this combo a lot better than than the combo that I purchased, but I'd now have to wait until June to get this.

I personally think Apple should have opened up the try-on period a day or two prior to pre-orders going up.

This is essentially a fashion product, it's something that will be worn day in and day out, so it has to look good on the user.

If they had this try-on period prior to pre-ordering the product, then there wouldn't be as many cases of buyers remorse once trying on the product in-store.

I personally went for the Space Gray Sport watch after seeing pictures posted on here of the watch itself, and thankfully the try-on made me appreciate my purchase so much more. Had I pre-ordered at 3 AM EST on Friday however, I most likely would have went with the silver Sport watch and end up hating my choice.

After seeing the silver aluminum in person it looks like plastic that was painted silver. The space grey looks a tad bit classier but the SS looks like a real watch.

Yep, this is exactly what just happened to me. I pre-ordered and had the 4/24-5/8 ship date. After struggling with various stores to let me even try on the combo that I purchased, so that I can verify what I wanted, I just cancelled, and re-ordered the 42MM sports watch in space gray, along with a black leather loop, and now have to wait until June

I wish they had. I would have ordered a 42 and not a 38 :-/
