Are all the "preparing for shipment" orders paid for with Apple Pay?
Nope. I used Apple pay, email confirmed order at 3:03 date range 2/24-5/8 42 mm SG Sport: still processing, no charges

I only mentioned it because macgeek is being a douche.
Still no 38mm SG Sports? Haven't seen a single one move to preparing yet.
I spent way too long messing around with the app and ended up ordering at 00:12 PT for the 4-6 week wave (5/21-6/2 in Canada). Still, the more units that go out now, the sooner mine moves up the list![]()
Are you lightly inferring that Apple is giving preference to Apple Pay users?
From what I gather, even Apple wouldn't know if you used Apple Pay to buy their product? I'm not clear on this.

Space Grey 42mm - Confirmed at 12:03
4/24-5/8
Illinois, USA
JUST GOT CHARGED TO MY CC
Still says processing tho...odd...
Someone in the other thread brought up an interesting point. It's possible that the watches that got charged today are those that are coming from China (less popular models). The more sought after models may already be in the states and are shipping from here so therefore would not have been charged yet. This includes SS / Black sport band and Space Gray sports.
Takes a few minutes to reflect, I'm glad to hear yours got charged. Means mine might get charged overnight![]()
I was just curious if that might be a correlation. But I think you're right, only the payment processor (Visa, Amex, etc.) would know if it was an ApplePay transaction.
For future reference, the Apple Store app always seems to work better. I ordered my iPhone 6 with the app while Apple Store website was still down.42mm :05 order confirmation. I'm screwed. Got up an hour before the preorder went live and refreshed the website relentlessly. Didn't realize the app users were getting a special exclusive presale until :04. Grabbed my phone and got it in. Too late.
It is possible that the Space Grays are being manufactured and assembled in Hawaii (the clue is the "space" material they use, lava, volcanoes, etc) and so they are still working (the time difference) and at end of day THEIR time there will be many watches shipped and happy Apple customers awaiting the Fed Ex man.
