2:03 (central) 42mm SG still processing, but the wife's 38mm White at 2:04 is charged and preparing for shipment. Not reading too much into it, but obviously the SG was a volume model.

42mm Space Gray

Got my email confirmation at XX:04. Nothing has changed, still 4-6 weeks… :(

42mm SG Sport, Apple Pay, confirmation received at 3:03 AM (Pennsylvania) 4/24-5/8 delivery range

Still in Processing - no charges... Still hopeful for a Friday delivery.

Ordered a 38mm SG Sport for my wife as a surprise MDay/BDay gift.
MC I used is not valid for :apple:Pay. :(
Store app worked right away. Entered MC# and it kept rejecting it. That happened three times before I realized that I selected "Visa".
Got the order in, email confirmation arrived at 306am EDT.
Still says 5/13-5/27; no change; no charge to the MC.
I'm just as anxious/excited and she would be if she knew, maybe more.
Hoping that it arrives before she starts questioning where the $$ went. ;)

There's no way they could be going in order by the time the order was placed. I doubt they do first-in, first-out.

Or do they??

I agree with everyone saying SS watches are probably sitting in a warehouse somewhere in the U.S. and SG is shipping from somewhere like China; hence the surge of "ready to ship" messages for the sport watches.

However, I don't think popularity has anything to do with it. I think we'll find out later this year that SS and Edition models were assembled in the U.S. Apple has been wanting to bring more manufacturing back to the U.S. The Mac Pro is assembled in the U.S. and what does the finish on that computer remind you of? (Hint: SS Space Black).

Don't think so. They would've made a HUGE deal about it. It would be a major media campaign.

I need to go workout and close my laptop and stop thinking about this stupid watch

Space Grey 42mm - Confirmed at 12:02
4/24-5/8
California, USA
No Charge
Still processing.

I'm in the 13-27 May range and I'm gutted that I missed the 24 April window by a few seconds. Luckily, I go on holiday on 1st may and arrive back on 12th so I will have something to take my mind off it. But how I wish I could have the watch to enjoy on my hols.

Unless they try to deliver a week early, then I'll be very annoyed

Don't know what to make of this but I saw it on Twitter and thought I would share on here. I keep maintaining that there is still hope for Friday delivery.
Make of this exchange what you wish.

In my case, at least, there is a component of style as well as order time. I ordered my

38mm Space Grey, first
confirmation 03:04 EDT, shipping window 4/24-5/8

Then I ordered my wife's silver/white 38 mm sport
confirmation 03:05 EDT

The silver and white watch is Preparing to ship, after the charge card bounced because I used Apple Pay and ended up restoring my phone a few days ago -- deleting the token needed to complete the charge. I logged into the store and changed the credit card info. It took about an hour after that for "Processing..." to change to "Preparing..."

The space grey charge is guaranteed to bounce too, so now I have to be even more OCD about refreshing the store page.

I was surprised that using Apple Pay seemed to force me into entering separate orders. But I certainly wasn't going to try to figure out a different strategy during the opening night rush.
