I don't know what's "normal", but Apple sent me a shipping notification and tracking number this afternoon that says to expect delivery tomorrow.
This depends on the route the UPS driver takes in your neighborhood, but in mine it was delivered at 10:33am. I should note that this is earlier than regular UPS shipments come. It would seem there are separate drivers for Next Day Air that come earlier in the morning.
Normally when I get a tracking number for UPS then add to UPS site to track some times doesnt show any information. Congrats on you early delivery.

I got my 1 dollar activation test to make sure my card was active. Apple has still not put the large charge on my card yet... Waiting. And waiting. Does anyone know about how long it takes in between the big charge and the test? I have a 38mm SG ordering from NY with a time of xx:08.

I had the same reaction I never received the EOD email and then I get this:
You'd think they'd know I already preordered. It was almost like I took a step backwards.
That was 5 hours ago this thread said a bunch of planes were about to land. # Now I come back to check my order status and it says "Preparing for Shipment". I had to read that several times be sure I got it right. Then I go to my Discover account and there's a $400+ charge pending. So I guess it really is coming soon.
My order confirmation was xx:05:41 (even though I hit [Buy] much sooner)

This whole thing would've been less stressful if they'd just said I'd get the watch this first week. Why tell me I won't get it for more than a month if it's just going to be a few days after they're "available"? I hope everyone that was in the 4/245/8 group has seen movement.

I've been using the Deliveries app to track my Apple order number. It still told me "Preparing for Shipment" then I click [View details online] and it says "Shipped" and there's another button to get a UPS tracking number. A half hour ago, the Apple Store sends me a shipment notification that my watch has been shipped. Apple says it should arrive tomorrow, April 29.

time to spread some hope for people in the tristate area. My earlier post said that orders can be charged at any time IN THE US (according to a management team from apple)....not just AK. There is a plane headed to Newark, NJ from Lousiville, scheduled to arrive at 6:21 EST. Maybe some of us NJ/NY/PA people will see some charges soon. Not saying anything definite, just a glimmer of hope

Shipped within the last 10 minutes, around 4:55 CST or so. Should this bad boy come tomorrow or am I looking at Thursday to get it?
Really not understanding the line they made. So many people after me are getting shipments, my best friend received his watch today and ordered after me as well.
