Well at least it looks like we are getting charges periodically throughout the day instead of all in one giant batch. Maybe those of us who seem to have been left behind should have some hope too.

Sorry if this has been asked/answered already but this thread has gotten huge.

Can anyone speak to how long it took for the watch to be shipped and/or received once it went to "preparing for shipment"?

Thanks!

I woke up to "Preparing for Shipment" and got a Shipment Notification and tracking number about half an hour ago (2:30 pm EDT), for delivery tomorrow.

Just got charged @ 10:45 MT... Delivery ??? Nothing yet.
Coming to SLC, Utah

I'm XX:04:56 also going to SLC for 42SG. I got the $1 check charge on Sunday night, but nothing since then. I'm hoping I'll see some movement soon.

Not bad. Mine went to preparing for shipment sometime around 1:30-2pm...so I'm probably looking at a Thursday delivery then. Maybe still tomorrow, if I'm lucky...but what's one more day at this point.

Thanks!

Well, it finally arrived.

Got it delivered to work, and went down to the mail room as soon as I saw it was delivered. 42mm Space Gray Sport. Wow guys. It was worth the wait.

First impressions:
  • Sport does NOT feel cheap in any way
  • Absolutely love the black case with the black band. Really looks slick
  • It's very good about turning the display on when you look at it
  • The only place I see it taking a little too long to load is fetching current location in maps. Otherwise, apps load relatively quick. A lot quicker than I expected after all the reviews saying they were slow
  • I had trouble finding the right amount of pressure for force touch using the display model at the Apple Store. This is not a problem at all while wearing it (at least for me)

Excited to test out the workout app/fitness functionality. Going on a bike ride later today, so we shall see! I already know that I love this thing, and my original black Pebble has been cast away for good. Good riddance :D

Just got my sport as well. Following @nathanalf's first impressions:

- Huh, it's smaller than I expected.
- Good god, it is really well-designed. The black aluminum casing is divine.
- The rubber/plastic band is really soft. Hedge your bets, it's still a rubber/plastic band, but it's the most comfortable rubber/plastic band I've worn (though I'm used to nylon NATO straps, so.)
- But damn it is pretty small.
- Unwrapping the plastic from everything was quite the experience for this item. Everything had plastic around it, and almost everything had a pull-tab or something that made this awesome.
- Screen is really nice, and closer than I thought to the glass.
- The Digital Crown has just an awesome feel: enough resistance, but still buttery smooth.
- As mentioned by others, the UI is a bit confusing... found myself wondering which button to use or which place to swipe.

All in all...

EDIT: while I think it would be cool to have a regular steel Apple Watch with a leather band, I'm incredibly impressed by how good of a product the black Sport is. I think you guys made the right decision – I think it's the best value Apple Watch out there.

I should add that there seems to be a delay from when Apple gives you a tracking number and the number is recognized by UPS. I got my notification about 45 minutes ago but UPS doesn't recognize it yet.

Are you trying to hurt us? Are you trying to make us cry?

Yeah. I don't follow a lot of people on Twitter - but the majority are for entertainment purposes. But if I could single out just a couple of news sources or something, that would be a more meaningful use on the watch.

This probably isn't the thread for this discussion though.

What you'd have to do in the twitter app is to make lists... Categorize the different people you follow, "celebs", "News", etc... Then see if your app allows sending individual lists to the Watch.

Public: I am genuinely happy for you. Enjoy!

Private: Sniff. Snort. Sniff. (Wipes eyes with sleeve.)

An :09er. Sigh.

Apple, like any other company that has an account with UPS, can create shipments which generates a tracking number. Only until UPS picks up the package (generally) is the tracking number then available to use for tracking purposes.
