So I have an interesting observation to make regarding when people are seeing charges on their credit cards and when watches are shipped out.

Its currently thursday 4:40PM in the afternoon in china, I wonder if the charges people are seeing are as a result of shipments leaving the factory at this hour. Doesn't UPS usually do pick ups around that time?

oh happy day, at 3:49am NYC time, my apple pay payment for my watch was declined. plus, a hold on my credit card was placed, but i didnt know about the hold so when i woke up to see a declined charge i just reentered my card info so it seems the second entry may be declined being that i didnt get the hold lifted first. will this affect my order?

I don't think Apple is springing for Sat delivery (UPS, FedEx Air and Ground) but if it ships FedEx Ground Home Saturday is a normal delivery day. Once you get your tracking # you'll be able to see.

Let's check your theory. The guy with the brown van put my watch in my hands at 5:08 pm.
Well, I cheated... I discovered it was easy to request they hold the package at my local UPS which is just a few miles from where I live. It was ready to pick up at 8:30am, but I casually strolled in yesterday afternoon.

Glad you got your watch and hope you enjoy it. And I'm sure the rest of you guys will see yours soon. #

I was expecting to get it tomorrow, since it was charged at 4:11 am. If they had done it later in the day, I would think maybe Monday but this was early enough that I think they can get it to me tomorrow

I hope so anyway. It would be good to have the weekend to mess around with it. Only weekend in May that I am not crazy busy

My watch just got charged last night and order now states preparing to ship. See signature for details. Shipping to CT.

Man, a lot of activity overnight, hope this brings hope for sooner than expected shipping to everyone on the forum and to us who just got charged Congratz! Its been a WILD ride, but we must not abandon the forum yet, Lol I feel attached#

Yep--got charged last night at some point and went to Preparing to Ship. I hope that means I'll get it Friday or Monday, because Saturday I will not be home to receive it.

So 4-6 weeks really ended up meaning roughly 3 weeks.

Ok, as a warning to everyone. Never, never, ever instruct UPS via their website once it gives you an estimated window of delivery for the Apple Watch, and you realize you will not be home during those hours, to keep the package at the main local distribution center for pick up once it arrives in town. Even though this is where it would usually go the evening after a failed attempt at delivery, Apple - as I now have been made aware - will see this online change as a security issue and will initiate a Return to Sender on the package within an hour without even contacting you or evidently explaining this policy to UPS.
...
Wow... that's good to know. I changed my order to be held at the local UPS hub — I had no problems, but I the hold right away before the watch got on the plane. Sorry for your extra wait and thanks for sharing.
