Kansas

42mm

No movement, but hoping right along with you. Would REALLY like it for the weekend!

In Kansas too... I hope all of us in the XX:05:40-XX:05:59 get something tonight. I need this wait to be OVER!

----------

We are three seconds apart! Tonight we are getting charged

I like the optimism! Tonight is our night!

----------

lol, lets hope one of us three gets a charge/shipment tonight.

::crosses fingers:: .... Again....

----------

I think the worst part lately has been I can't bring my self to read the tech section of my news reader... Everything is about the watch and it just rubs salt in the wound. Lol.

Still processing, no charge, nothing in my support profile.

Hope to see a charge when I wake up! If I get a tracking number today, I'll call UPS and ask them to hold it at will call for Saturday morning (so I can pick it up if it makes it to my hub by then).

Does picking the watch up at the closest ups hub make the process faster?
It should be possible to pick it up when the UPS office opens (on the same day it would ordinary be delivered to a residence.

In my case, I waited until UPS Choice sent a shipping confirmation email. It said my package would delivered to between noon and 4pm. I clicked [ Change Delivery >> ] on the tracking info page and changed it to my local UPS hub. Then it told me I could pick it up when their office was open (8:30am-8:45pm) for the next 5 days.

When I made the change for the package to be held, the watch was still in Harrisburg, PA. There was another poster who said he requested the hold after it had arrived at the final UPS hub. Apparently that's a big mistake. The watch is "on the the truck" at that point and even though you asked for it to be held, it goes out for delivery. When it comes back after the day's rounds, by some strange UPS logic, it's considered a failed delivery and they send it back to Apple. Then you go crazy calling Apple and they tell you they'll send a replacement after they original arrives.

So I guess the moral is: request a hold if you'd prefer to pick it up rather than wait by the door, but make your hold request in a timely fashion... or else #

Normally, the wave begins around this time. Anyone charged or have an authorisation?

From the last two nights the wave doesn't start for a few hours. :(.

----------

But maybe different tonight! You never knew in Apple land!

----------

Your order is before mine so I've been waiting for your confirmation. Lol

Haha! Well I am pretty unlucky with this launch and live in southern Kansas now which I'm sure isn't helping... So I may not be the best gauge, but I'll be sure to let EVERYONE know if I get a charge.

Mine arrives today!!

I regret not getting the stainless steel Apple watch now , it looks so much better than the sport

The ss watch looks like a real watch , the sport watch looks like a smart watch

I could sell the sport but I already been wearing it since Friday and bought Apple care , plus the SS ships in June

Oh well next Apple watch 2 I'll get the SS version

You shouldn't. The SS scratches 10x easier than the aluminum on the sport. Think of it kinda like the old iPod backs.

Well, you could take my view! I figured getting the first watch was somewhat risky in that the very next model in a year could be much better - certainly after 2 years. I certainly don't see myself spending this kind of money for a new watch every year or so.

But I figured it was worth getting the first version of this even expecting to replace it sooner than normal. With that in mind, it really made no sense to get anything but the sports watch (42). Then, when something better comes along that I would keep longer, I may opt for the stainless version.

In short, I could justify spending $400 for the short term, but not $600.

Well, planes have started landing in KY. We should start seeing charges soon, if that's even how it works lol.

As far as I can tell, here is how it seems to work right now...

(All times approximate)
  • 4:00 A.M. EDT - Orders are loaded on a UPS plane in Shenzhen, China and credit cards are charged. Plane departs for Anchorage, Alaska.
  • 2:00 P.M. EDT - Plane arrives in Anchorage.
  • 5:00 P.M. EDT - Plane departs for Louisville, Kentucky.
  • 1:00 A.M. EDT - Plane arrives in Louisville. Tracking info released.
  • 4:00 A.M. EDT - Shenzhen, China - Lather, rinse, repeat.

Wow... maybe I really am obsessing over this.

This information is inaccurate. Cards are NOT charged for Watch until they enter the US. Speculation is when they get to AK or KY/CA, or while in transit between the two. Cards for Watch are not charged while Watch is in China.

The people I have heard from had their cards charged overnight. That is what my speculation is based on. I'm not claiming this is anymore than a guess on my part.
