I like the look of the SG X much better than the silver but I’m wondering how the PVD coating will hold up long term. What’s your experience been so far? Does it scratch easily or does it seem durable?

Literally checked a second ago after briefly removing my case. Absolutely perfect condition.

It's not as durable as the DLC on the Space Black Apple Watch. (judging from the 3 spots where the coating was scraped away when I dropped mine).

In cased you missed it - the pics are here: #1

Mine has been in an Apple leather case since it came out of the box but the exposed portion on the bottom is flawless.

Umm, you drop your phone and are surprised the screen cracked and the frame scuffed?! 2 feet is plenty high enough for that to happen.

Where did I say I was surprised? If the PVD was as tough as the coating on the watch, I expect it would have been untouched by that fall. The watch has certainly been a lot more durable than that.
Where did I actually say that you said you were surprised? Your surprise is implied right there in your post, expecting something that didn't turn out based on said expectation. Surprised or not, whether you want to be pedantic on whether you said it or not, I'm not the one rocking a broken iPhone.

His phone was repaired, he is not "Rocking" a broken iPhone. Also, You implied he was surprised in this Post below:

All Fischersd stated was the iPhone X physical vapor deposition is not as durable as the DLC coating on the Apple Watch. Nor did he even mention the display in that post, You did. Perhaps re-read what he wrote before interjecting your own narrative.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I’m about 90% sure now the choice will be space gray in a black leather case. :D

LOL obviously your band will be in perfect condition if it was in a case.

Mines scratched to ****. Caseless. It already kissed the pavement twice. I don't baby my phone.

cherry, but I will admit my ghetto mod, I've done this since the iPhone 6+, I literally use scotch tape around the sides, and use a case. When I resale it, there are no blemishes and I rarely take my phone out of the case, unless it's for a monthly wipe down.

Could you post a pic for us, please? I’m curious to see how it looks in this condition.
