I love spaces too; I just wish the transition and view of all 4 spaces was a little more outer "space" like. Kinda like the time machine transition. It's a cool theme.

Ok, so go to the Spaces configuration, and add /System/Library/Core Services/Finder.app to the list of programs and select "All Spaces". Then it will follow you from space to space.

That is good news. :)
To the OP, have another way to view your attached screenshot? Seems to be a dead link from imageshack.

Yep. Except that the spaces look a little weird, when you go spaces mode, since it shows both screens.

so any chance we'll get the cube effect from linux also? :D i know it's trivial, but it's so much fun for some reason.

spaces and backgrounds

Does anyone know if spaces allows you to put different wallpaper or backgrounds on the different spaces - that would help me to be less confused by it all . . .

I'm finding Spaces very useful. This tip is really fun! I could kill a couple hours pushing these windows around....yes I have no life! :)

No...although I love Spaces, that's one pretty big feature missing that a lot of people would like to have. It's one of the things Apple sacrificed to the altar of simplicity.

Anyone else feel that the way Spaces handle's dual monitors is just a little 'off' somehow? Doesn't feel quite right. I think maybe I'd rather have Spaces only work on the primary monitor, or maybe separate Spaces for each monitor, so that changing work spaces on one doesn't affect the other...

Hmm...

However, saying that I like the way windows will zip across both monitors when changing spaces, it gives the right feeling of both monitors being linked together in space.

Actually I think that's part of the reason it makes so much sense. The windows have their own spaces. There aren't separate desktops per se which is far more confusing (notice the dock and desktop icons don't move).

If you're used to using Virtual Desktops in the first place then you probably won't like Spaces to begin with. But if you've always hated virtual desktops then Spaces is beautiful.
