I'm sure going to miss Spaces...... :(

So to get back on topic.....can anyone confirm whether assigning an app to a space "sticks" when you quit the app or reboot the machine?

-Kevin
It does (most of the time). Sometimes it glitches and the app opens up in whatever space you're currently in. For example, I assigned Word 2011 to Desktop 2 (my "workspace"), whereas Desktop 1 is my internet browsing/general purpose space. Sometimes when I open up a document I downloaded, it will open up in Desktop 1, although this seems to have been fixed after a reboot.

Well that's definately some good news.

No doubt mission control is going to take some getting used to (like having to select a space twice unlike in SL to switch to it).

But I need to be able to assign apps to spaces and have them stick.

Sorry Kevin, I had intended to answer you; :)
I have seen some weird behavior in this regard, but for the most part my apps do stick to the desktops that I assign them to. I have noticed that if I interact with any of the desktops on a reboot BEFORE Lion has FULLY launched and FULLY readied ALL the desktops, sometimes an app will lose track of which desktop it wad originally stuck to. This is a bug which I have submitted to Apple.

Sounds good, thanks John. Bugs I can handle......at least they didn't remove the option all together.

Hmm that wasn't the topic I believe! The topic is about whether spaces are gone! And yes spaces are dead. Now you have "desktops" and full screen apps.
