I like a lot my Speck case on my rMBP:), only regret is that the Apple logo does not lit too much since have the black color, which along with Bubble Gum where the only colors available when it was released.

I have had the worst experience with the Speck Smartshell's. My 3rd replacement is on its way as we speak. First one wouldn't even fit, second one was completely warped and bent. I have decided to stay naked on my macbook pro retina and just use a sleeve. There's too many cases out there about hard cases that cause damage. I'm not going to take that risk anymore.

Recently bought a replacement Speck case, not because of failure or issues with black one, just to try a different color:

I prefer actual cases, all 3 Mac's home use Speck cases, this is mine:

Like this color a lot more (Pomodoro red)

Nothing fancy. $12 clear slim case gets the job done. When it gets old, simply buy another one to replace it. I don't understand why some people spend $30-$50 on a case. I've looked at Speck case and several others, I don't think those are any better than mine.

I have one of those cases but in black and a Speck case, the bottom part of the Speck case the clips broke off so I am using the bottom part of the other case but I still am using the Speck top case.

... They all look ugly to me. Ruins the clean aesthetic of your beautiful computer with a faux-fibre sticker. I've had my iPad for more than a year and it has no scratches. I don't use a case.

I would not risk mine since the aluminum color finish is beautiful, but easy to scratch. If it works for you like that, I'm happy for you!

my statement isn't oblivious at all I would never buy anything like this because whoever owned it surely treated it like cr@p and not all stickers have the same type of glue...
I never bought a used one but I sold several and cosmetic condition is important to potential buyers

I never understood why people put a bunch of stickers on their Macbooks. I tried with one sticker and my computer looked so tacky, had to take it off.

Agree! Stickers on laptops are very common in my University, don't look nice at all IMHO !!

What's that lap desk you have the MBP on?

Thanks a lot. Will check it out.

Totally get it if you can even find one (check fleabay). It doesn't look very fancy but the adjustable stand makes it worth it. Plus it has some cable organizer mounts on the back.

Huh, the riser itself is nice and I'd probably buy one, but but I would never use it like in this picture. I'd undoubtedly kick it off the table when I got up. Terrible usage example.

LOL... for demonstration purpose only. :D But yeah, it can sit pretty high. Mine is on low angle.

I found them in Ebay, but with shipping would be like $45 since seller is from UK, will check Amazon.

That's exactly the point. Stickers make a MacBook unsellable, so it's less likely to get stolen. For people who aren't going to resell, it makes sense to make it as ugly as possible.

Plus you look like less of a hipster
