I wasn't aware that making them global was the recommendation for non-localized apps. I assumed that devs would only support making them available in regions that officially speak the languages they support, which is what I did with mine.
The basic idea was that since updates are handled automatically, adding localizations can be done in a dot release based on regional sales.
The big problem is that the number of store localizations does not match the number of language localizations; example: Brazil (which I believe speaks some form of portuguese) vs other south american areas (many of which speak some form of spanish). Then you've got areas where english may be spoken (or at least basically understood), but isn't the "official" language of the store (such as most of Europe, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't switzerland have like 3 official languages?)
