They've always done a new model followed by an "S" model.

Almost always, but not always. The designs of the original iPhone and 3G iPhones were different, and the processor on the 3G wasn't any better.

That was the only time because to do 3G they needed to get rid of the Aluminum Body.

But the 3G had a 3GS and the 4 had a 4S model, both had slight hardware and internal modification but didn't change the design or dimensions. Im sure the 5 will have the same thing if a 5S comes out.

how are they ever going to get anywhere still using a charger that was made 11 years ago! It saves a ton of space and most of the pins were filler.
Fine, so why doing their own useless connector and skipping the option of mini-usb, like most devices in these world.

This isn't the first time apple made their own connector. They have pretty much established a pattern of not using modern-day standards. So there is nothing to complain about.

2x processor speed, better battery life, the move to a f.22 aperature lens(f.24 in iphone 5 and 4s right now) 10 megapixel camera. NFC, same looking phone as the iPhone 5 but more durable(stronger anodization/stronger aluminum?)

And I think in iOS 7 it will be a overhaul of the UI. I think in terms of look and it could be one of the biggest iOS updates ever. I think what i listed is what exactly will be in the next iPhone.

I think you're probably very close.

I agree with the phone upgrades, except maybe NFC. But for iOS 7 I don't think they will overhaul the UI. Change the look of some of the stock apps, most likely, but not a whole new UI look. I think maybe a few more Notification Center widgets and more Siri features. The reason being is that the majority of iOS users are "normal" people who don't like change in their devices. They know how to use this now, they don't want a brand new UI to learn.

There is something to complain about. The fact that Apple is closed minded and want to do everything in Apple's way while negatively affect their users experience for not going with international standards. Mini-USB is there for almost every tablet/new smartphone from dozens of different manufactures. But hey, we are apple and do you know why we haven't integrated mini-usb to our devices? Basically because F**ck you, this is why. Look what is happening to their stock value, free-fall and this is only the beginning.

Every time a new iPhone comes out I always think to myself, "what could Apple possibly do next to make me buy the phone". I can usually think of a few things ie. better camera, bigger screen, better processor, or more capacity. This time though I'm at a loss. What do you guys think Apple will do for the next phone that will make it the must have device?

I've been waiting to use this picture today. It's 49 weeks away. Can't we please just enjoy this one first?

what about their stock value? With every new product release it jumps. They are one of the most valuable tech companies in the world. If you are so against apple's way of doing stuff then don't buy their products.

pretty good assumption. It's f2.2 aperture btw.

The stock had a "correction" of 10% since it's high peak (Can also be said from iPhone 5's release date). 10% = loss of billions of dollars. Yes, Apple is valuable, but people start to lean toward the competitors. Apple didn't really have any competitors during the first iPhone, 3, 3GS, and even iPhone 4 era. Today there are plenty.

Good speculations!

I can't imagine that they make the iPhone 5 with Retina display and up to 64 GB of HD and then, come out with mini that can't go there, too.

iBooks isn't a fav for me, since I have a Kindle with over 400 books on it.

Oh wait...with the Kindle App on my iPad, all of my books were instantly downloaded to Cloud, and I can put them "on my device" to read or remove them. Great for cookbooks and books with graphics. Old Kindle not so hot for books with graphics, color, maps...but now, with my iPad and Kindle app, I just stand the iPad up above my kitchen counter and read my recipes while I cook!

So...hope I can do same with a mini...Kindle App and all my library. I check out iBooks, so maybe it will grow, but even Amazon says they make no money on devices, since they get it from content.

LOLOL almost every post you make is to complain about the new connector and cable. Don't you have something better to do?

An f/22 aperture is no good. Do you realize how small (slow) that is? Right now they're using an f/2.4. Did you mean f/2.2? I doubt they'll spend a lot of effort getting an f/2.2 in. That's just a half-stop faster than f/2.4.

Don't you have something better to do than protecting Apple's cables?

Yeah i realized i made a mistake..when i was typing that i thought it was wrong but i wasnt sure. That is what i ment. And i thought the lower the aperature, the more light the sensor can let in?

Yeah that's correct. The smaller the f-stop number, the larger the aperture, the more light can enter.

I sure do. I help people when I can and tell whiners like you to grow up.

Well yeah not a complete overhaul, but new home screen kind of that will make the "average doesnt know a thing about smartphones" think its a

Iwatch

I think they will do the i watch that will connect with your iphone so you do not have to take it out all the time: read time, texts, facebook... Weather... On it, see who is calling...
