Try PuTTYs built in terminal, other then that you will have to wait for me to compile a script for windows. You could also manually delete them, but using the script is the safest way.

Okay thanks! I'll wait btw I'm using an iPod touch 4g on 4.3.3 jailbroken with latest redsnow. I'll deleted the daemons you post for suggested, but I didn't delete the ones that you weren't sure of just like that one guy that posted earlier. A problem I'm having is that my apps won't load and shut down or take a really long time to load. I tried putting some of the daemons like dumppanic, crashhouse, adminlite and other crash/log daemons back but apps still have problems. Any idea what daemon that I deleted is causing this? I barely have any 3rd party apps and fairly empty ATM. But I do have sbsettings. Thanks!!!

If I place my original backed up daemons everything runs smoothly and I have respringed/hard reset after the deleted daemons

Hmm, i havent had that problem from doing 3 devices. Make sure you have whatever disabled thats corresponding to the launch daemon removal if it applies. Just do each 1 by 1 and respring and see which one is the cause.

Edit: Oh and PuTTY's built in terminal works with the script.

Btw, I read somewhere that 4.3.3 for both iphone and ipods messed up the ram and slows down the device even further, is this true? If so which IOS should I be on? I'm using an ipod touch 4g and I can't believe that other post said he got like 200+ memory before even modifiying. I'm only getting around 80-120 and I barely have anything on my iPod, I refresh the memory on sb settings, close apps in multitasking and best I can get is around 120 I don't even have any kinda theme or widget.

Thanks guys and I'll try out Putty!

Its partially true, with each update that they add more features it does tend to bog down the devices resources. On my ipod touch 4 i get about 152~MB free of ram after freeing up memory.

I just did the terminal thing but still haven't deleted the daemons as I'm still not sure which is causing my apps to load really long. I only get around 140mb after freeing from sb settings and turning off all my widgets etc. Should I downgrade? Which firmware do you think it's best in your opinon? I even have my Ping off in the restriction settings..

Thanks again :)

I referenced your guide because my iPhone 4 usually sits between 250-300 but sometimes it's been as high as 340-360 ( if I'm wrong then feel free to correct me) my problem was I didn't increase the system partition when I built the firmware with Pwnage Tool. I used syscleanpro in MobileTerminal instead of using SSH, and removed all languages and keyboards except English, I used a cydia app (again in MobileTerminal) to control the LaunchDaemons, and SwitcherMod. Typing this on my phone with 2 Safari pages, and phone, SMS, and SystemPreferences open (in addition to numerous tweaks) and I'm sitting at 260MB. Also took me from 156MB on / to about 200MB, I have multitasking enabled, spotlight and I'm not using FakeClockUp or the other one (name escapes me at the moment. Basically using Cydia apps to do most of what you said and I've noticed some improvement, worth it for me, good tutorial!!

Thank you so much Ace134Blue. You did a great job writing that guide out and deserve some respect, but SOME people on here or ungracious little *****!

Anyway thanks for the tips!

No problem man

Rebooting always helps.

I usually charge 100%, then reboot, and find it starts charging again from maybe 97% back to 100%, this is after a few days, as if the phone becomes unsynced from the actual battery capacity

which file did i remove that's causing the slow down? my iPhone 4 has come to a grinding halt after doing this :/

You must have accidently deleted something you shouldnt have. I have done this before by shift-clicking to highlight stuff. Always make sure to double check what you deleted.

Jesus. Give some people an easy-to-use phone and they'll make sure to come up with a way to make it difficult.

After I have removed those languages and LauchDaemons, I rebooted my iPod.
But most of the games didn't run normally, it stays at the loading page and then crashes.
Why would that happen?
I did not remove com.Apple.AdminLite.plist
Other apps run normally.

I've just tried these tips on an iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2.1 but it's actually made things much slower. The worst example is typing: it takes at least a minute to show on screen what has been typed. I've tried restarting and resetting all settings but I guess I'll have to do a full restore.

I have the very same issue. Now I have done all of the steps but launch daemons and it is so much faster. The reason it is showing on our devices is because they are older and slower so they are much easier to tell differences in the speed. Now the launch daemons are gone and put less stress on the ram. But instead it puts stress on our slow CPU's. The iOS system constantly looks for the launch daemons that have been deleted. So if you keep the launch daemons and do the rest of the steps it will be much quicker. Hope this helps all! :apple:

Great

1. I followed your indications word by word and deleted what was in the thread.
Result - Perfomance Boost - Noticed big difference
Side Effect - My wireless connection signal had a minor bug - Every time i turn off my ipad 1 32g 3g wi and then turn on the icon would not get white and no measure of the signal would be done until i would respreing and then everything would turn fine.

2. I have restored it and then just deleted the stuff like nike apps, voices..etc.. so like half of it.
Restult - Perfomance boost - Noticed big difference also
Side effects - none

Thanks it was helpful

I dont know if you still check this thread or not bro, but i was gettin ready to delete some of the daemons and i ssh into my ipod 4g went to library/launch daemons lol and the only one that was in their was the one for my ssh. Which is wierd. Was wondering if you had any ideas on this. An i was noticing too when i do research on stuff concerning speeding up my ipod and getting rid of stuff i dont need i notice that theirs often file locations i dont have on my ipod, like /System/Library/AccessibilityBundles/SportsTrainerFramework.axbundle
/System/Library/AccessibilityBundles/Nike.axbundle /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SportsTrainer.framework. I wanna get rid of the nike app i just wanna make sure i get rid of all traces of it. im kinda new with apple, this ipod is my first idevice, and its cool but sucks at times. The 258 mb ram really blows when you have 32 g's of hard drive space. I aint no expert but i know damn sure it run a hell of a lot smoother if it had at least 1gb of ram. Theirs gotta be some equation or ratio for ram to hard drive space to keep things runnin smoothly. Lol all that money for a college education and common sense goes in the pooper. I dunno my main thing was the launch daemons, i really wanted to get rid of em. I have icleaner and i disabled alot of them in icleaner but i wanted to get rid of some others that i saw in their. And its just wierd that none are in their except my ssh one. my ipod should be technically crashing or bricked or inop right now i would think.

This guide was posted a year and a half ago for an old iOS version. Things will have changed since then.

True but some things would still be the same like the launch daemons being in the launch daemons folder.

Kindly, would I know if I can restore a deleted language pack ( like Arabic ) ? And how if possible ??
Thank you
