Speedtest App Not Accurate

Unless you have a really fast wifi network, the bottleneck is not the iPhone.

that isn't exactly true. when you browse the web, the info you receive needs to be processed.

Same here. The results are about the same as my laptop's speed test The speedtest.net app results were about half the download speed.

My experience has been the same as well.

Using Speedtest app on my iphone, which is connected to my work wifi, I get downloads of 23.44 mbps. Weird

EDIT: NEVERMIND, Im an idiot. My laptop was connected to my docking station directly to the network, which is why it was so fast. I took it off the docking station and got about the same speeds as the iphone app, 20 mbps download.

did you see all of the cat thingies? try pulling down the screen a couple of times, random but funny.

for the results: besides the ping being higher on the iPhone, the up and down speeds are almost exactly
the same on my iPhone, MacBook and iMac.
One does 25,52Mb/s, the next is at 24,94Mb/s and the iPhone was at 24,32Mb/s.

I don't believe your numbers are correct. If you want us to believe that you are getting 200Mbps ( 200Mbps = 24Mb/s ) speeds on your iphone, then use the Speedtest app and post your iPhone labeled results

Stop trying to confuse the matter, this is about pure speed = a website that has you download a file size to test out your internet connection

Yeah those numbers are IMPOSSIBLE to do over wifi at the moment 80211N has a theoretical max of 600Mbps = 50Mb/s

What? You're the one who's confusing me, Mbps and Mb/s is the same thing.

Ok, that's just a coincidence. They really aren't the same the most of the time. The hardware really is different in most cases. It's just thst you have a laptop that's apparently similar to your phone. That's not going to be true to for everyone.

On average my laptop tends to always be about 10 Mb/s faster than my iPhone.

Not sure I follow you. How is it a coincidence? I've tried it multiple times from multiple devices in my home, always with the same results.

Ever since the update for the Speedtest.net app it has been complete junk. I wish i could unupdate that app but i will try out this FCC one.

FCC tells me:

Down: 30.8 Mb/s
Up: 6.7 Mb/s
Ping 51 ms
Jitter: 10 ms

Speedtest.net:

Down: 41.1 Mb/s
Up: 5.4 Mb/s
Ping 35 ms
Jitter: 12 ms
