I use speakerphone and surf the web and check things using data all the time. To not have it would be crippling. There is no way for Verizon people to say it doesn't matter.

I am getting faster speeds than the image he linked and I'm on AT&T.

I just can't lose the ability to use voice and data at the same time

The Verizon people remind me of the 4s guys who can't affor the iPhone 5. They pull the "there isn't really a difference ". They are just mad they can't surf/talk or can't get the iPhone.5

I'm in the UK, just north of London (Hertfordshire). Network is Three.

Did a bunch of tests to different servers in the area - most are in London though so tend to give skewed results. Will re-test in a few days once my number transfers over and everything settles.

Here is my area. LTE on and off.

LTE I guess went live this week in Sacramento, CA this week for AT&T. But I haven't seen any speedtest results from my area. Curious to see what the speeds are

doesn't look too shabby! I'm curious what kind of signal do you get indoors/outdoors with 3?

Sigh, can't believe how horrible ATT's LTE service is in the Chicago area. If it weren't for the ability to simultaneously use voice and data, I'd of been on Verizon right now.
My friends who have AT&T never have more than three bars on their iPhones. When they go inside of a building, it drops down to one bar or even "searching..."

It'll get better. Hang In there.

It's ATT, I wouldn't hold my breath. Their LTE has been piss poor since launch, and considering how far behind they are in market deployments compared to Verizon, I won't expect them to go back and fix anything for a couple years at the least. If I wasn't on a corporate account, I'd of moved ages ago.

Anybody on Verizon in NYC have a speedtest they can post? I'm home from school for the weekend and am curious how much faster the LTE will be there compared to my home.

for those posting, can you please put your city, state please & thank you :D

will post up my results, when the Mrs. comes home, so I can do some LTE tests when I am out

Its true. They've convinced themselves it doesn't matter.

It does.

I can't imagine having to hang up a call to check an email or check a movie show time. It would feel so limiting.

Seems fairly stable signal wise. I'm actually in a self-converted garden office, which is basically a thick-wood log cabin style shed, which I've insulated and turned into a 'propper' room.

The reason I bring this up, is that because I've had to use some pretty expensive/beefy insulation (as its a shed!) it acts as a signal block. I'm effectively inside a silver tinfoil box, which would weaken signal.

That said, inside here I get 4 bars easily. If I step outside it's still 4 bars, sometimes getting 5.

It's certainly a hell of a lot better than my cheapo ZTE-Blade (Android 2.2) was getting on T-Mobile. The most I ever got on that was about 2mbps, and that was in Hatfield (about 5 mins away) where T-Mobiles head offices are. In here I was lucky to get 1mbps.

I'm stress testing the connection at the moment. I've got it running spotify, whilst downloading all my apps, and also got it tethered (didnt even expect it to be enabled by default!) to my macbook air. All seem to be running at a very acceptable rate considering this isnt running LTE yet!

Overall very happy! :D

Here is LTE on AT&T in N. VA:

Here is HSPA+ (i.e., LTE disabled) on AT&T in N. VA:, which is about 3x what I got on the 4S.

Here in Los Angeles on AT&T, I'm seeing faster download speeds (around 6) on HSPA vs LTE ( around 5). Pathetic.

My Wifi (802.11n) result is below.

I am not at all happy with the 802.11n performance (my iPad3 gets near 60Mbps and my 4S gets >30Mbps), and I plan to replace my router today to see if it makes a difference. My wired throughput is about 80Mbps on FiOS.

But does it actually work in N. VA? My problem when visiting is that it seems to be fast on SpeedTest but it takes forever for anything to load. I'd imagine that's just network congestion and wouldn't change on the 5.
