Watch out for this case guys. I bought it expecting high quality, but it was really cheap:

1. The plastic did not sit flush with the TPU lining. The imperfection was minor, but it is there at the edges where the two meet.

2. The TPU liner has a seam running along the edges (not a big deal, but something to keep in mind)

3. The TPU lining has embossed lettering that pops up from the surface. I think Black iphone owners should watch out for this over time as this can't be good for the black surface.

Spigen is also TERRIBLE at customer service. They have yet to process a week-old unrelated return, and have yet to respond to a 5-day old email concerning problems with my glass.tr (arrived with scratches). I really can't believe people recommend them.

I've gone through the Hybrid Slim EX, the Slim Armor, and the glass.tr and am not impressed with any of these products. The glass.tr is the best so far, but typing responsiveness has definitely been muted.

This is the first bad review I have heard in regards to the slim armor. That do you mean by point #3? Are you referring to the inside of the TPU and the lettering popping up could rub against the back of the iphone causing scratches?

Must've been a bad apple .... Mine is flawless and the best case I've tried yet

Trust me I've got the gun metal SLIMAMOR and it's it probably the last case I buy for my i5 it's so beautiful with my glas tr

If you order a glas tr today you get a full back protection for your i5 so no issues

Yeah, the inside of the TPU that sits against the back of your iphone 5 has lettering that pops up which will sit/rub against your iphone 5 all day. Not saying that I've experienced anything negative yet, just that this looks like a potential problem for black iphone 5 owners in the long run.

Those back protectors leave a ~2mm gap all around the perimeter of the phone, which kind of defeats the purpose of a back protector. I mean, sure, the part underneath the plastic will be protected, but the part around it will be more vulnerable if anything due to dust getting caught at the seam. I really did expect it to go all the way to the edges.

And yes, I am surprised I am giving a negative review as well given I have heard nothing but praises for this company. But I am usually more meticulous than the average user. That, and I notice there seems to be a lot of groupthink going on on the forums. I've seen it everywhere from electronics to car forums. Owners of their products tend to defend them no matter what the problem is.

Are you using a screen protector? If so which one? Mine slim armor is in the mail but I'm concerned with the lack of lay on the table protection.
i have a sgp screen protector on the front and a zagg hd on the back .. The phone still fit in this case perfect

I'll post some pics tomorrow afternoon (105mm Nikkor Macro) of the GLAS.tR on my fiance's iPhone 5 with my Spigen Slim Armor (Metal Slate), until her Spigen Slim Armor (Satin Silver) arrives.

Dumping her garbage pink/white OtterBox Commuter Case!

Reading a lot of reviews. So far the bit of extra bulk, slipperiness and easy scratching of the poly back I'm reading about is keeping me from pulling the trigger on this SA. Currently have the Tones (same design concept: hybrid TPU and polycarbonate), and love the slim feel of it.

Any opinions would be interesting on the comparison of the two. The only selling points is the better match of the colors to the original phone.

Glas.tr or just normal screen protector? If you don't mind me asking why do you have something on the back of the phone if its covered?
a regular screen protector ... I have the hd on the back because I wasn't using a case ... Couldn't find one I liked... Because it fits in this case with it on , I just kept it on

It sure what form of individual is "scratching" the back of this case, but they have to be purposely trying to damage it. I have been rolling the Slim Armor since the day it was available on Amazon, not a single mar or scratch yet. I do keep my phone in my back pocket, so maybe I just take care of my *****!

I just received my Slim Armor off Amazon and can say that, at the moment, it feels and looks great.

I had the Tones case previously, and while I do agree that the Tones case IS slightly slimmer in size, the Slim Armor feels a lot better in the hand IMHO. With the Tones, I found that the 90 degree right angles it has along the edges would kinda dig into my hand whereas with the Slim Armor, because the edges are actually beveled - it feels very comfortable in the hand and I like the extra weight it adds to the iPhone 5 (which I personally think is a little too light naked!). It definitely looks better than the Tones case too!!

I've also got Spigen's Glass T screen shield (haven't experienced ANY breaking of the corners as other posters have talked about) which is a good combo with the Slim Armor (there's no 'lay on the table design' with this case and screen shield combo). Won't post any pics as I only have my naff iPad 2 camera which won't do the Slim Armor case ANY justice at all !!!!!

;)

Thanks guys for the quick feedback. For now, I'm going to sit this one out a bit longer and not 'pull the trigger' on the SA.

I don't want anymore bulk or weight and the front lip seems a tad small for me. I don't use a screen protector. Since most of you use the glas.t protector and say that makes it flush with the case: the glas.t is 0.4mm thick. That is not much of a lip; the tones seems to be at least 1mm.

I'll keep an eye on it, and see how the reviews go in the next few weeks. Opinions change fast...and I have nothing to complain about with the Tones at the moment.

I kinda prefer the 90 degree angle corners too.

just buy it its under 20 dollars LOLOL

dont like, SGP has a return you know

Well I asked so many questions regarding this case I figured I would give my opinion now that it has arrived. The actual case is high quality, especially for $17. Feels very sturdy and protective, to me it doesn't add an unnecessary amount of weight to the phone and still keeps it looking sleek and stylish.

I am using an ultra crystal screen protector on the phone, there is basically zero lay on the table protection so I am unsure of whether to lay the phone face down on its back. Seems that laying it on its back will scratch the slate back but I guess time will tell.

For those who have this case, has laying in on its back scratched the surface of the metal casing?

Thanks for all the input.

I usually put my phone down on it's back and I don't see any scratches on it yet. Besides, does it matter if it gets scratched? That's the whole point of having a protective case.

I have the Slim Armor case, and yes, the back (it's plastic, not metal) did scratch from sliding it around on a table. I have a pic in this thread of the scratches. If you pick it up every time you move it, that might not happen. But I don't want a case that delicate and easily damaged. It also had zero grip in my hand. I've gone back to my CandyShell Grip, which is lighter, has good fit, not as prone to scratches, and much more grip.

Sit it out and enjoy your time missing out on a SLIM /UNOBTRUSIVE CASE for the iPhone 5.

Saying you "don't want the bulk or weight" makes zero sense in regards to the Spigen Slim Armor (aka'SA), as the Spiegen Slim Armor is the most unobtrusive proactive case one can use, period! I have not used the Tones, as I do not see any need to waste the money on a case I wouldn't use, since the iSpiegen Slim Armor is near perfection for my needs! No noticeable added weight, with or without my 0.4mm Spigen GLAS t.R protector!

It's amazing that people point out negatives about products, that are actually positives instead of negatives!

If anyone has a fiancé/girlfriend/wife like I do, kindly refrain from wasting your hard-earned money on the white/pink OtterBox Commuter, what a 100% garbage item.

See pics of two months of use with make-up

I like this case a lot

But I wish the lightning hole was bigger

Sometimes those cheap cables are bigger than the official ones , also the adapters
