This is a known problem. Apparently using the updated redsn0w versions help fix this, but having never experienced it I'm only going by what I've read. Are you on 5.0.1 untethered?

if you're talking about redsn0w 0.9.10b3 then that's i used to get an untethered jailbreak for 5.0.1, my Facebook app doesn't work, Twitter, Tumblr, basically everything that's not a default app is not working.

I was wondering why my VLC wasn't working.

Can anyone confirm Spire is the problem with apps crashing?

I've got Spire installed and Pandora, Memebase, Facebook (though it launches slowly), but Facebook Messenger and Twitter crashed.

Anyways, my iPod is slow enough as it is (Genius Bar says that since my iPod is chipped, water moisture has been getting in so my A4 runs slower :( ), I don't need all the Jailbreak stuff slowing me down even more. I'll use Siri when I get my White iPhone 4S!

I was having issues with most of my apps crashing or opening really slowly when I had Spire installed. I removed Spire and all is good again. :)

Just realised I am suffering from this problem haha. Did you boot tethered? Even though you may be using an untethered jb, a tethered boot may be required... I'll try it now. I can't imagine it fixing things, but you never know!

nope, didn't bother going to 5.0 till the untethered came out. i'm a patient person when it comes to jailbreaks so i stayed on 4.0 till 5.0.1 was jailbreaked without having to tether boot it. but do let me know if the "tethered-boot" fixes it! haha!

Nope, didn't work. Nor did upgrading MobileSubstrate. Seeing as no servers worked and Spire was stopping any app from working, it made sense to remove Spire. I'll wait until there is distinct confirmation of a proxy working and then maybe play with it again.

The crashing for default apps is due to the incompatibility of Spire with Copic. Dunno whether any other apps have the incompatibility.

Guys this thread is not about Spire bugs or incompatibilities, it's about proxy servers. Are there actually any legitimate ones that someone can verify?

I have one but I require a donation of $10.

Honestly don't know why people just set this up themselves. The guides are out there.

Just removed Spire on your advice and all my apps are working now.

Thank You.

I paid for them because i wanted to inform you guys if the service was true or not. Now i'm really angry with them. @leefisher please tell me what we can do. I already told paypal about them.

If you donated via paypal, there's absolutely nothing you can do but blame yourself for your idiocy.

These scam sites ask to be paid via the donate button on paypal for once good reason - so that you cannot reverse the payment.

So...the california coppers are going to come all the way out to Tennessee to get me? :D
