Thanks to everyone who is participating. Also, thanks again to Voidness - we all appreciate it!

Just an FYI for everyone: The keynote is generally 1-5 - 2 hours long. It may be streamed live but if it is not, Apple will post it. Apple can take as little as 2 hours to post the link or as much as a day (but usually by 6 hours).

Oh and the reason for some of the rules are what I've learned through experience.
- The "No Rumor" Rule is obvious (as someone may say a current rumor that people may not want to hear).
- The "Stock Price" one is if Apple fails to impress (the stock would dip)

Here we go again!

My gratitude, as usual, goes to Voidness and his excellent Spoiler-Free script!

I've got such a great feeling about this keynote... :)

Quick question as I'm already ignoring news feeds / all other areas of the internet:

What time is the Keynote scheduled to start?

What's that translate to in UK Sterling? ;)

Some extra tips for staying spoiler-free:

-turn off software-updates, RSS feeds, e-mail (or use a rule to hide those from apple)

-avoid any news: online, radio, television

-stay off technology websites, twitter, basically any site that follows recent events (even sites like memebase)

-avoid talking to people who may be following apple news, or who know you're interested in apple related news

Recommended ways of spending your waiting time: playing a single player video game, archive binging on websites you like (notalwaysright.com, dilbert.com, xkcd.com, tvtropes.org spring to mind), spending time with friends or family (provided they know not to spoil anything keynote-related), doing work or studying.

Another good way to make sure you don't see adds by accident, which a lot of us use anyway regardless, is to install some kind of flash blocker in your primary browser, like ClickToFlash that will a) keep your processor usage down in normal browsing and b) block most new and updated adds that will spoil the event today. As far as distractions, normally I catch up on films on my watchlist before dinner but I'm feeling riskier today and thinking of hanging out with friends that don't have smart phones and hoping I don't hear any conversations about apple products in public ...

Voidness, thanks again and hope you're in the thread as usual!

When will we know if there is a live feed from apple? Shouldn't there already be a placeholder? I can't remember from previous occasions.

I believe last time a live stream was provided it didn't show up very early, but I believe it wasn't as close as we are now.

I think overall the chances for a live stream are pretty slim

That's what I was afraid of. I think I will call it a night and try my luck for an early video post tomorrow.

Have fun!

Hello everyone!

Thank you for your kind words. I'm flattered! I updated the keynote checker last night, and it should be a little more robust if something goes wrong. In case it doesn't work, I'll post the links manually in this thread.

I've been looking forward to this year's WWDC for months, and looks like it's going to be worth it.

Will the keynote be streamed after the event?

I have prior engagements for an hour today starting at the exact same time the keynote does!

So i dont want to come home to find all the gossip if i could log in somewhere and watch it a little behind?

It's for those, like me, who like to watch the keynote without prior knowledge of what's going to happen. Think of it like going to go see a movie with friends, and having one of them spoil the ending. I don't know about you, but I dislike when people ruin the endings of movies. Same goes for these keynotes.

THEN WHY ARE YOU ON MACRUMORS TODAY?

Seriously, I don't get it. What are you going to do in this thread that's worth your time?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Unless I'm mistaken I thought Engadget were broadcasting a live pre-chat and post-chat NOT the actual keynote itself?

Live Stream

I am really hoping for a live stream...pretty sure one was available for last keynote, but I may be mistaken.

You're right, my bad.

I thought that first too void. They did word it to create confusion. Engadget has gone off the rails since Josh and the guys left.

That's fine if you don't get it. Then the thread is just not for you.

I have this page bookmarked; so I'll visit it until a link is posted for the keynote. It's not like I go to MacRumors directly, pretend to skip all the Front Page posts/Spoilers & come to this thread to be Spoiler-Free.

Wwdc 2011

Be prepared to be underwhelmed. That way whatever they announce will make you go yay even if its really dull.

Is anyone checking uStream to see if any of the streams from WWDC are watchable? It won't be as good as an Apple live stream or recording, but it might be good enough for some of us
