Anybody have any issue with the pin fading or discoloring on the SG SB? Would love to see pictures if at all possible.

it's $49 and the wear most people are talking about is not even visible when worn. People spend more than $49 a week on over priced coffee and crap food than they'll release from there body 8hrs later. It's not like the band cost is $149 its $49. Something you can replace every 2months if you want. Before people start complaining about that, consider all the people paying 200-300$ for cable its not like they're watching all those channels.

This is what I was seeing on mine. The first one started here, and eventually started doing the same thing on the outside next to the watch body where it was very visible. In both cases Apple has said its not expected/normal, and offered replacements.

Is this just a problem with the black sport band or are other colors affected as well?

I've heard it can happen to other colored ones, but it's not as noticeable. Haven't seen pictures though...
Thanks. This is good to know. I was going to get a sports band for my Milanese, but now I may just spend the extra money and get a leather band instead.

You're not alone... I had posted a thread about my stone leather loop discoloring after only 6 days. Now, my blue one is doing the same. It took about 1½ weeks before it started to become noticeable and it only happens in 2 places. Where the band connects to the watch and on the tip of the band, where you grab it to wrap around your wrist. It starts to turn a yellowish color, which is more distinguishable in person. I've tried cleaning it with saddle soap a few times, which didn't do hardly anything. The only thing I can attribute to the discoloration is sweat/oil (no, I don't wear my watch while exercising) from my hands.

I really didn't expect it to develop this amount of "patina" in under a month. I thought that Apple would've treated the leather with even a very light coat of protectant. I mean, you are wearing the band on your wrist, in the middle of summer.

Watch out for the lighter colored ones. This was posted here earlier...

I have the green sport and pink(coral) sport band. I have been switching between the two for over a month now and have not seen any problems. I am not easy on watches as I work on a horse farm and get much dirt, sweat, ointments, lotions and chemicals on the watch band (and watch). I wash the bands in soap and water every day and they still look pristine. A cheap leather band will last me about a week before I can't stand to put it on my wrist.

I'll take it wearing down a little faster since it is comfortable as hell. I don't want a band that is a harder material digging into my wrist throughout the day.

If I have to buy one or two Sport Bands a year, so be it. I have the green and black SB and also the leather buckle. I just rotate them depending on usage for the day or immediate time frame.

As I mentioned in another thread, my 3-4 day old black sports band already started showing some "peeling" on the outer surface where it doesn't rub against itself. My white one is holding up much better. Very disappointing since I like to mix both black & white bands together.

While I'm hardly an Apple apologist, I have to say, the band itself is hardly expensive. I bought a sport band for my AW for working out and it was $70. I don't exactly expect much from it.

I completely agree. It wasn't exactly expensive. My iphone 6 leather case has wome scuffs on it where I have dropped it. Would I expect Apple to replace it? Hardly. So why would I expect them to replace a rubber watch strap that has rubbed a bit due to friction.

Maybe I should complain to Michelin because my car tyres are wearing out where they touch the road. They cost more than my watch strap so it isn't really acceptable on a premium product....
