I remember a music player on iOS that had a 'Refuse to play Nickelback' option.

You would think these alleged complex machine learning algos that are "so advanced" would figure it out if you dislike an artist a couple of times. I don't think computers are going to take over the world anytime soon like many scream about.

You should anyway. Spotify’s algorithms are game-changing. Once you listen to enough music with the app, they begin getting it so right. Lots of new artists you’ve never heard of and will probably enjoy. Apple’s algorithms are like they came from 2007 Pandora app or something. A complete joke.

I completely agree with you. I listen to pop rock, rock, alternative, indie, some metal and country, yet half of the time, I get R&B, hip hop/rap, K-pop and pure pop recommended to me. It's like they want me to pull my hair out. Friends Mix, Chill Mix and New Music Mix are of no use. Even the For You section list once said, "Thursday's Albums: Since you listen to rock", then showing Beyoncé's I Am... Sasha Fierce, Kelly Clarkson's My December (this I can accept), Céline Dion's Falling Into You and Jack Johnson's Brushfire Fairytales.

Yes, a lot of the ML/AI promises are just marketing fluff.

I bet that works great in the car.

You can digitize vinyl albums so you can add them to your phones library, and I assume those are songs that you want to hear. I’m not going to get into the analog vs digital sound quality because I personally can’t hear a difference between vinyl and a CD quality file, and I don’t know if there is a difference between 16 bit (CD Quality) and 24 bit bit sound files when compared to vinyl that people can actually hear or not. I know people who say they can but I don’t.

Point is if you play/stream from a personal library you create the only songs or artists that you’ll hear and they are ones that you put there.

/edit spelling and grammar.

Apple Music is so far behind Spotify in technology and features that it is embarrassing.

I have subscriptions to both (which I shouldn’t need to have), but for whatever reason Apple will not allow some tracks on certain albums to be streamed. (Of course they are HAPPY to SELL it to you on iTunes for an additional charge.)

The interface is extremely bland. Even Amazon Music and Napster have more modern interfaces.

Right now the only reason I keep Apple Music is because Spotify isn’t available on Apple TV or Car Play.

I still might get rid of it and just stream Spotify from my mobile devices. It’s very disappointing. I keep waiting for an improvement, but it never comes!

I could go on and on, but I am particularly happy to see this blocking feature come to Spotify for radio stations.

I don’t have a problem with other playlists, but you never know what an algorithm might include in a radio station stream.

Why the hate for Justin Bieber?
[doublepost=1548102498][/doublepost]

Why would you hate on Justin Bieber right now?

Why does it matter?? Was there some memo that we all need to like him now????

Also, I’m not sure people understand anymore that you can have absolutely zero interest in an “artist”, while finding them to be more of the same shallow narcissistic commercial empty calorie ******** and NOT be a hater?? He’s not interesting enough to hate on.
