Well turns out I had Spotify app downloaded from another app store. So I downloaded from same App Store as my Apple tv setting n sure enough it appeared on my tv App Store not on tv list

I'm not getting it either.

Updated the app on my phone (works with Siri). Restarted phone and Apple TV. Nothing.

Logged out of iCloud, logged back in. Nothing.

Turned on Automatically Install Apps (on Apple TV). Deleted Spotify from iPhone. Restarted both devices. Reinstalled Spotify on iPhone. Nothing.

At this point, I blame the dumpster fire that is tvPOS 13.0 (and assuming it's only
tvPOS beta testers in this thread that were able to install Spotify on Apple TV).

After 10am pacific, GOT IT!

Hasn’t worked for me after restarting. Still says that “Spotify hasn’t added support”. Strange. Probably some kinda caching delay
Ah I figured it out. If you have the Spotify Artists app installed it won’t work. It prompts you to choose between it and the Spotify Stations app. Deleted the Artists app and viola, works instantly. Hope that helps somebody out there.

Yes yes yes! It’s so funny because just yesterday thanks to a horribly buggy TVos13 on my Apple TV, I was searching the store to see if Spotify had ever released an app. I was up very late so saw the news that they were releasing on Apple TV but it wasn’t showing yet so had to go to bed denied. So sad.

But it’s downloaded, paired and rocking out now! Finally. A reliable now playing screen for my music which was SO hit and miss using Airplay from my phone. I never thought I would see the day. I was ready to resort to my old Chromecast. 😱 So this came out just in the nick of time for me. Thank you Spotify!

Wow. That was surprisingly quick. They usually take their sweet time implementing new features and frameworks.

Anyone know how to fast forward/rewind on Apple TV?

There doesn’t seem to be a way to scrub through a track directly within the Apple TV app, but if you have it installed on an iPhone/iPad it should show the current playing track on the Apple TV and allow you to scrub/play/pause/next and previous track etc.

I agree on principle, but it might not be Spotify's fault. I have a Tesla, and we just got Spotify in an OTA update on our cars in the U.S., but Teslas in Europe have had it for a while (our only streaming option was Slacker Radio!).

Corporate politics *may* be to blame 🧐

Astonishing how a „service“ company was unable for years to provide their app on the apple tv while pandora and others have been day 1 releases.

Unfortunately I still can not use Siri because Apple insist on recording and storing my voice in their servers.

That's what this is. With the addition of Siri StreamKit (is that how this one is called?) You can use Spotify on the Homepod by saying "Hey Siri, play the Beatles on Spotify".

Now I'm just angry at Apple that I cannot set a default Music App in order to skip the "on Spotify".

Can anyone confirm that you can use Siri on a HomePod to play things from Spotify? I thought this function was only available via iPhone...

Has anyone noticed, that when using in CarPlay, I need to unlock my phone and open the Spotify app before I'm able to use Siri to control it? I don't remember the exact message I get back, but something about the app not responding. Then once I unlock the phone and launch Spotify then lock the phone again, I'm able to use it?

Most of the time, I need to have Spotify open on my phone to get it to work (2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee). Also, whenever I open Waze on CarPlay (if it's not already open on my phone), it will glitch out the audio for a few seconds while it launches. I used to think it was a bad cable but it happens with every cable. It's been like this with both apps for over a year on iOS 12 and now 13.

Interesting. I'm not having that Waze issue (wireless carplay in 2018 BMW X3). Not the biggest deal in the world, but would be nice not to have to unlock the phone and go to Spotify each time.

I see similar issues too. If I use CarPlay to open Spotify and select an album, sometimes it will say "this item cannot be played." Then if I open Spotify on my iPhone, and then select the album in CarPlay again, the album can suddenly now play. There's obviously some sort of permissions issue between 3rd party apps and CarPlay that manually logging into the iPhone app resolves. I think it has something to do with the background state of the Spotify app. If I've recently used it on my iPhone, the CarPlay issue doesn't seem to happen. I think it's only when it has been "backgrounded/frozen" by iOS.
