Spread some Retina Love!

It's thin and light. That's why I bought it.

Still think don't think the retina display is that impressive. I like ability to use 1680x1050 scaled, but I would have been able to do that with the old MBP and with an anti-glare option to boot! I use plenty of non-retina monitors and laptops through out the day that this doesn't really matter much to me anymore.

As is the nature of internet forums, many people speak in extremes.

Furthermore, many of us will only pipe up if there is an issue or problem.

This thread is for those of us to share their love of the rMBP's.

All you have to do is say "YES" in a post. Say you love it. Say what you love about it. There is more than the screen that is awesome. In my opinion, they are the best laptops ever made.

This way those of us who are on the fence about making the purchase no longer can feel so reluctant or put off by the naysayers and trolls.

YES!
YES rmbp13
1 Portability
2 Beatiful screen
3. Not underpowered like MBA.
4 Sturdy and a really awesome keyboard
5. HDMI port allows easy connectivity to my Samsung display cum tv

I have the 15 and ironically do not like the screen. It's impossible to play a 720p at its native resolution, and for people editing video it is important, and all those pixels make the UI often lag.

Actually, I do have one problem. I have to buy a new camera now.

The screen shows up stuff I've never seen before.

Does WebKit do everything Safari do, including syncing your bookmarks with iOS devices? How about all the gestures? Are there any drawbacks?

Don't use Webkit now, just upgrade to 10.8.3, and Safari should be super smooth. Also do the SMC Update to make it twice as good, as well as making graphic intensive games playable now.

Thanks. I think the SMC update is only for the 15" rMBP although it didn't say so specifically. When I tried it with my 13", it said not comparable. Most of the complaints with the fan seem to be from 15" owners, so is that why?

Because the 15' rMBP alone uses the SanDisk SSDs with the fan problem (I believe).

BTW...Samsung presentation is torture--trite and contrived with Broadway scenes to illustrate some new features.

Gripes:
1) Visual stutter when scrolling. I think Apple could have/should have done better here. Yes retina requires some power but coming from buttery smooth 17" this is a drawback.

2) Sharp edges: My third unibody and the corners of the palm rest are still annoying. They know how to chamfer edges a la iPhone 5. Would it have killed them to make the retina slightly more plush by softening the palm rest edges?

3) Let me use whatever resolution I want without resorting to third party apps. 2880x1800 may be useless for reading, but let me be the judge of that.

10.8.3: One gripe down, two to go. I wonder if 10.9 will round the corners of the palm rest?? :)

Do you actually own one? Or just familiar with them via playing with them at a retail store? Just curious...because in 30 years of computing...I can honestly say it's the absolute Best computer I've had the pleasure of owning.

Yep. Screen is nice, form factor is nice, track pad is nice. Above that, like I said, it's a computer. I guess I just don't bust-a-nut over this kind of stuff like some/most do here.

I love my rMBP! The screen is so nice that I rarely use my external monitors any more. I didn't expect that this would happen. This is by far my favorite computer yet.

Awesome Computer. No complaints...and I will buy the Haswell model when it's released. We are right now considering replacing all of our business iMacs with rMBPs...

WOW man that's pretty keen.

Which external monitors can match? Thunderbolt?

I like my DELL (S-IPS) display better than the Retina. I like whites that are actually blue (5000-6000K), but I can't reproduce it on my rMBP, even with several calibration programs.

I've had the 13 rMBP for about 48 hours. LOVE IT! My first Mac computer ever and I think I may be more in love with the OS than anything.

As far as the computer itself, GREAT screen, solid feel, EXCELLENT trackpad, unreal speed, and amazing battery. Coming from a laptop that got me about 75 minutes of off-charge battery life, this thing is absolutely astounding.

Also, I live in a house with a majority of Android/PC users. I can't get them to take their dirty paws off of this thing :D. I got a text message, and it popped up on the screen under Messages, and they were sold hahahahaha (again an OS thing).

YES!

I am new here and I just got my 15" rMBP few days ago.

I wouldn't lie about I always despite Apple's theory or the fanboy worship activities of this very company and the creator.

But recently I received a new project offer requires me to use Logic Pro and need to work onsite.

I have no choice but get a MBP, logic and some other audio gears like Apogee's stuffs.

Well. I was wrong.

rMBP is the BEST laptop I ever used.
I am a PC geek.
My personal DIY PC is a top of the line one.

hex core overclocked.
64GB ram
multiple SSD
GTX 680 SLI
all water-cooled

I always strive for performance.

But MBP doesn't disappoint me even the slightest bit.
I couldn't imagine so much performance packed in such a small yet slick looking enclosure.

The retina display is crazy, the fonts, the anti-aliasing on MAC OS is something you won't see in a PC. With retina display. Apple widen this gap even more.

I have slight double vision on my left eye due to my recent health issue.
Mac's text readability really saved my day.

I always hated laptop's track pad or track point or whatever it is.
But the track pad with multitouch + gesture control on MBP
really an eye opener. Took me 2 days to get used to but once I used to it.
I couldn't live without it. It totally a game changer.
It made using laptop a joy.

OSX and MBP and Retina has their downside but the good side is good enough to make me love my MBP.
I don't think I can use another laptop ever again. I just can't
My next laptop would be a Haswell retina MBP 15".

I am going to get a 27" iMac.
Migrate all my works to Mac platform.
My PC will keep serve me for gaming and other entertainments.

I know I sound so dumb in this post. I sound like a little kid just discovered his first boner. But I really do love my new rMBP. I didn't know what I missed all these years and now I know.:p
