My phone is showing up on sprint to activate... it’s about that time. I ordered through Apple’s website.

Question— is there any physical difference between the different ”carrier versions” of the iPhone 12 (assuming the same will hold true for Mini, Pro, Pro Max) aside from the SIM card that comes with it? (Just wanting to know if a Sprint 12 Pro Max is identical to the T-Mobile 12 Pro Max in terms of radios / network connectivity.

They are the same....however...in order to get the best from 5G you need to go to the T-Mobile / Sprint store to have your SIM swapped out from a Sprint SIM to a T-Mobile SIM....just did that today and it’s night and day as far as 5G service goes...I’m talking lightning fast speeds...I couldnt be happier...I stayed with T-Mobile as I heard good things about the 5G....almost switched to Verizon....gave them one more shot and so far so good...

Thanks for the info— so are you technically on a Sprint plan still, you just went to a store and had a T-Mobile SIM put in? I take it that puts you on the T-Mobile side of the network rather than the Sprint side?

I’m Looking at getting someone a new phone that isn’t on my plan *yet*— I am a T-Mobile customer (left sprint 9 years ago) they are on a Sprint plan still. One concern I have bringing them over is that their signal is much better from Sprint where they live than my T-Mobile signal is (Not an issue for data since there’s WiFi, just thinking about voice calls.) Just wanted to make sure I could use the same device later once these networks are eventually combined, though who knows how many months / years that will take.

I wonder if I could technically do the reverse... move the line to a T-Mobile plan but put a Sprint SIM in there.

That's interesting, I did not know that. I will have to try that and see if it improves my speeds/service. I am with Sprint but I'm in 29 Palms, CA and service here sucks for all carriers but I get some good 5g in some spots out here lol.

Can you elaborate on this? Do you keep the same Sprint plan but with a T Mobile SIM or what is the process?

Has anyone received anything from Sprint regarding the phones sent back as a trade in? I know they received mine on the 10th, but so far, I have received nothing.

I've sent in my trade-in for the 12 Pro and the credit appeared on the statement I received last week.

Yes the same Sprint plan with the T-Mobile SIM...I did have to redo my voicemail which I did not know, but other than that the trans was seamless and the 5G service is great.

Let us know how it goes...I’m interested to see your results.

Yes you are on the T-Mobile network...now when seeing the cell signal bars it says “T-Mobile“ rather than “Sprint”
I don’t think you can do the reverse as Sprint will eventually be going away...

Sprint did a good job getting me the Pro Max next day air when it released. I ordered mine the day before it released in the stores on Thursday. It delivered Monday at my office. Apple has a delivery date of Dec 12th if you did not pre-order. I will be trading in my old phone so hopefully the credit will show up soon.

Anyone else not receive anything concerning the value of their trade-in? We sent two back directly to Sprint. They received them November 10 but have yet to send us anything at all.
