I'm only sticking with Sprint because LTE should be here next month in LA. It also doesn't hurt that I am on my families Sprint plan, and its paid for me while im in college. Though, sometime next year id imagine ill have to go off on my own, and im switching to AT&T. Can BARELY stream Pandora on Sprints 3G while walking home. I HATE it.

Even though LTE is coming to Los Angeles, im sure it will be spotty as hell.

I am in LA too, just returned the iPhone and jumping to Verizon. I just dont feel its right to pay for a service that is delivering unusable 3G at speeds like .4 Mbps down / .1 up.

They say Sprint LTE should be deployed between 2013 - 2014. I dont want to wait for my phone to start working about the time the 5S or 6 is about to be released.

It's the network that's the problem. I left Sprint to go to AT&T for the iPhone 5 and could not be happier with my decision. I don't have LTE yet, but the HSPA+ speeds are MUCH better than the unusable 3G speeds I was getting on Sprint with an iPhone 4S and Galaxy S3.

Does anyone have a Sprint Iphone 5 that doesn't suck? This is for the people that don't have LTE available yet. I can't do anything on it without being on Wifi. 3g speeds are god awful. I'm in Los Angeles and supposedly 3g is enhanced now, but I'm not experiencing that all. I have 8 days left before I'm stuck with Sprint, but I heard LTE will be hitting Los Angeles real soon. I don't know if I should take the risk and hope that their LTE will solve these issues or just switch to Verizon.

It's not the phone that's slow and sucks its the network in your area.
Don't sit there and tolerate it and waste your money with hopes and dreams that it will get better.

At work in Culver City I get pretty good speeds, about .70-1.0 mbps, but everywhere else is god awful like .02-.40 mbps. I first heard the Network Vision was suppose to be launched in Sept and now I hear it's Oct. When I checked their coverage map it said I had best coverage. That was obviously a lie.

If .7 Mbps is pretty good speeds then what's 52mbps that I get with AT&T?

Dude I test drove a sprint galaxy s3 for seven days. I work in Long beach and live in Ventura. Dude, the 3speeds are baaaaad. I'm talking never reaching anywhere over 300 Kilobytes per second in LA. I went to Seattle/Canada in the interim and horrible speeds as well. The only time I got "good speeds" anywhere from 700kps to 1mb was north of Seattle, outside of town. Unfortunately that's not practical for me.

Even if they deploy LTE in LA, who knows how long that will spread to other areas like Long Beach, San Fernando, ventura.... Not worth it. It was maddening an I consistently got 1-2 bars, so signal was not strong leading to battery drain. I really wanted to move to sprint with the promise of unlimited data, but its not worth it. Shoot my AT&T 3G easily tops 1mb in LA.

Unfortunately looks like I may stay with AT&T for this time. Hopefully tmobile and sprint makes changes to their network in the next 2 yea for mr to come over.

AT&T gives a 20% discount to govt employees so its affordable enough for me to basically pay sprint bill for AT&T.

I'm on Sprint in Orange County, CA with no LTE yet and only get about .7 Mbps down on 3G. But I have Wifi at home and work that gives me about 10 Mbps down. I'd rather save $30 per month on my family plan vs Verizon. When I'm out and about on 3G, i only email, text, surf the web, and check Facebook. Pages never lag so I'm ok with it.

This is the best site to find out when Sprint LTE is coming to your area:

Check out the pinned "Network Vision/LTE Deployment Running List"
or make a small donation to get more detailed maps that show actual towers.

Yeah I cancelled Sprint, and switched to Vzw. Going to Sprint was the worst decision I ever made.

As much as I liked the iPhone 5 I cancelled Sprint and willing to wait 3-4 weeks on a new order from VZ.
The phone was unusable with the 0.4 down and sometimes 0 up.
Thats if you get 3G sometimes you just had a little circle of no data connection.
Apparently anything LTE including their Galaxy and Evo's are the same if you check their support site. I doubt they will last very long as a company if they dont fix their data side.

I'm sorry but Sprint is a piece of dirt **** company that left my family and I with barely any data even though they have towers in multiple locations by our house. They bluntly lied to us when we signed up and denied it all and not even want to work with us when we couldnt get service! It just doesn't work. And I'll say it now:

worst mistake of my life = going with sprint

Best decision of my life = switched to Verizon

And we even had to pay $1200 to cancel 4 lines with them. Whatever it was worth it. Their unlimited is so crappy it's unusable. They can take that "unlimited" crap and shove it where the sun don't shine. They're a bunch if ****** liars.
