Suckers like you are the reason Sprint has been able to to stay in business and operate the way the do. Their lousy 3G coverage has always been blamed on their network vision improvements...THEY'VE BEEN UPGRADING THEIR 3G SERVICE FOR 3+ YEARS!!!!!! Wake up man and realize the Sprint is a joke! By the Time Sprint gets done launchint their LTE service the other 3 gig carriers will be working on the next gen of LTE...

I am no sucker by any means. Please keep it civil.

Yes they have lousy 3G in major cities. That's why they are upgrading. Yes they didn't do anything for a long time degrading their network. But I still have hope that after all is said and done, Sprint will have better future than Verizon or At&t. LTE Advance is already being added with the Network vision upgrade compared to Verizon and At&t who will need to go and add those hardware again next year.

I had Verizon from 2001 and know their 3G speeds. It's about the same but better than Sprint right now. I also had iPhone 5 with Verizon before I switched to Sprint and know Verizon LTE in NYC is at best 12 mbps. They have gaps in LTE in the financial district in Manhattan where I don't get LTE at all. 3G was even worse than what I get from Sprint right now. So no not one company is better than others in all places.

I have weighted all my options and chose Sprint because they had better coverage where I work and live and have unlimited data and was cheaper last October.

Having said all that, I will say this. If t-mobile had changed their plans and had iPhone 5 last Oct, I would have went to t-mobile. But the belief that Sprint will be better after all upgrades are done by end of this year or next still stands.

I was a long time customer of Sprint's but I'm glad I left when I did. Nothing in their track record leads me to believe they care (1) about customer experience or (2) that their "Network Vision" is anything more than mere words. They have been claiming to be upgrading they're 3G service for dar too long for me to believe its anything over than lipservice at this point.

My reccomendation is to sell your iphone (you should get enough to cover the cost of your early term fees) and start fresh. Save yourself the headache.

That thought had crossed my mind I assure you. However all three lines on my family plan will need to be changed and that's more of a hassle. And the S3 my folks have won't cover their ETF. Only if sprint decides to change our agreement... then maybe I can get out without ETF. Or move to an area not serviced by them.

So far, I have had great CS experience with them every time I called or chatted. Verizon didn't care about the customer at all from my experience. If all things go the way I expect (Softbank merger, Clearwire buyout and Nextel shutdown), then Sprint will be better. Right now, I am in a wait and see mode and will see what happens. If any of the three mentioned things don't go the way expected, then I will pay ETF and leave.

dont believe any of this 'network vision' upgrade crap you see on their website or from people on different forums(they probably work for sprint). they only say this to trick you into staying with them because they are losing customers at an astonishing rate. thier 'unlimited' data plan is useless if it is at 28.8k modem speeds.

they will never have a better future then verizon or ATT because they offer unlimited data which slows thier network to a crawl, and have the cheapest cellular pricing. you get what you pay for.

im with verizon now and i have LTE coverage damn near everywhere. my speeds are ussally anywhere from 5-50Mb. sure its a little more a month but it is worth it.

and you can easily get out of paying an ETF if you download a prl hack to your phone forcing it into verizon roaming. download a copy of ubuntu every night and wait for the sprint cancellation letter in the mail.

You're delusional, Network Vision is very much real but I will keep this simple, AT&T and Verizon need to watch out.

They need to watch out for a pathetically slow deployment and the fact that VZW and AT&T will probably have LTE-A up much earlier than Sprint?

What a joke.

If you're too cheap to pay for quality service, so be it, but making ridiculous blanket statements like this are just hilarious.

There's a reason why Sprint is constantly ranked the worst carrier nationwide is every city tested by root metrics.

All Sprint LTE towers are LTE-A capable they just need a software update, Verizon and AT&T will need to do actual hardware upgrades for it. ;)

You're delusional, Network Vision is very much real but I will keep this simple, AT&T and Verizon need to watch out.

What do they need to watch out for? Sprint MIGHT have their initial LTE rollout done in 2015. Verizon is pretty much done already. AT&T will be done next. Hell T-Mobile might even finish before Sprint. Sprint is wasting time putting up LTE in 50K population towns just to make their "LTE cities number" look better for marketing purposes. They don't care about their network. Combine that with the fact that they have the worst 3G network of all 4 carriers to drop back to and that makes them an even bigger joke. A nationwide 3G network that's comparable in speed to AT&T 2G/Edge data.

None of the carriers react or care about what Sprint is doing. They've been offering and heavily marketing unlimited data for years now and it hasn't made Verizon or AT&T even blink. Why? Because everyone knows unlimited data is useless when your speeds are below 500kbps. Sprint is like a running joke among the telecos. T-Mobile's CEO stated that he wouldn't even target Sprint because it was "too easy". You know it's bad when a company like T-Mobile with all their Edge areas doesn't even acknowledge your network.

They've been bleeding cash and customers forever now. Getting the iPhone stopped their churn but it didn't stop their cash bleeding and massive debt pile from stacking up. They should be more concerned with T-Mobile stealing the low-end market from them moreso than worrying about Verizon. Their network is just too poor quality for them to make any strides in the next couple of years.

Sprint isn't bad for those who still use dumbphones or don't use data, but those who have iPhones I don't understand why they would cripple it by getting one with Sprint. Only excuse I can see is if their credit isn't good enough for the Big 2. Then in that case they can even use T-Mobile if necessary.

what good is a 'software update' if they don't have the bandwidth to support it? they can't even deal with 3g right now but somehow they are going to offer better performance?

somehow the one carrier with the lowest pricing is supposed to offer better service than the providers that are actually making a profit like verizon and att.

sprint lost $4 billion last year. anyone who tells you they are improving thier network im guessing works for sprint.

And your point? They already have the backhaul up and they've already proven they can deploy new equipment much faster than Sprint could ever dream of. All we have heard from them are excuses and delays.

Much be nice to get paid by Sprint.

I don’t think someone with Sprint and stating service is bad qualifies them as being a "sucker". My credit was a little shaky when I got Sprint years ago and they offered a deposit WAY lower than the other big 3. I needed two lines and Verizon wanted $600 for each. Sprint only offered a $50 deposit. I went with what I could better afford at the time. Rather than spend money I didn’t have I went with what I could. Unlimited data and text helped as well. My credit is alot better now but im sticking with what I have. I think Sprint customers get more mad at the promise of BETTER service that we have yet to receive. Just my opinion.:D:apple:

I'm not sure why people are arguing and defending carriers. None of them give a damn about you and all of them or trying to get every last cent out of you.

Having said that, Sprint isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It all comes down to your needs really. Let's look at a few things:

1. Most people with Smartphones spend most of their day in a place where they are on WIFI (Home or work). 3G sucks big time on Sprint but if you are in a LTE area like I am then it's really nice speed and unlimited data wise.

2. Sprint plans are cheaper than VZ and ATT. Even cheaper if you can swing a discount.

3. Unlimited Data. Again, if you are in an LTE area it's nice not having to worry about overages. Do your due diligence before you buy.

4. Unlimited texting. No nickle and diming on that front either.

5. Customer service isnt bad at all IMHO. I got a free AIR RAVE device because I want a mini cell tower/amplifier in my house just by asking. I also get refunds if there are any issues with a cell tower pretty much the second I call or get on chat.

Again, I'm not sure why there is all this bickering back and forth about which carrier is better. It's really all subjective and comes down to which carrier is more practical for you.

I think all the carriers are greedy bastards and I hate them all. :)

Nice post! I agree. Some people think THEY invented their carriers speed. LOL. There's all good and bad. Yes my buddy at work laughs at me and my sprint speed but I get my laughs when one day he came back from his lunch hour and quietly joked his data for the month was coming up cause he streamed a movie. He got an alert on his phone. I think he still had another week or more of the month but he had to chill on his data for the rest of the month. LoL.

at least he is able to stream a movie, which most of the time you cannot do on sprint. just wait until thier LTE starts getting bogged down much like thier 3g already is.

Why stream a freaking movie on a cell phone network? To me that's just plain dumb. This is the reason why all the other networks have limits and throttling because you have some folks that just try an abuse it. You telling me that you are gonna watch a 2 hour movie while you are out and about? Just ridiculous.

Abuse, i see you drank the koolaide. T-Mobile does not have a problem with me using 70GB a month. The others need to build a better network.

I guess you don't travel or listed to podcasts ect.

T-Mobile is excellent for this kind of stuff. When I was with AT&T for my iPhone, I was lucky if I could use 500MB in one month because the speeds were so slow.

With T-Mobile in my first month, I used 10GB. I Leave my phone and Nexus 7 tablet with WiFi off because the speeds are so good. It takes less than 10 seconds to download a song in iTunes in my 4S compared to 10 minutes on AT&T.

Not drinking the kool aid, just more conservative with my use. I don't travel much and I dont listen to podcasts. If I were out and about travel or not, those type of things would not be something I would do.

Most of my data usage comes from texting/email, occasional surfing, and a little bit of social networking. If I do get into heavier things like watching youtube or videos from a site, usually I'm in a spot with WIFI. Again, most people with phones are in a place with WIFI most of the day (home or work). When I'm out with friends or running the streets, the last thing I'm doing is giving my phone quality time.

The only place I've ever watched a movie on my mobile device is on a plane. And guess what, no internet there.

I see absolutely no reason to watch a movie on my phone. Movies can wait until I'm at home with my big screen and surround sound. Media watching on the phone is pretty much limited to YouTube and music.

The others need to build a better network.

What a joke. TMo needs a build a better network. Sprint is superior to TMo in many ways. For example, they actually have 3G in rural areas and superior coverage. TMo is riddled with EDGE everywhere. Sprint has actually committed to upgrading every tower (whenever that happens...), whereas Legere couldn't give a damn about any other cities, besides top metro markets.

AT&T and VZW have more LTE than TMo has HSPA. That is pathetic since AT&T/VZW have been deploying LTE for under 2 years, and TMo is still ****ing around for about 5 years with tons of EDGE-only areas.

Bingo. These moochers are exactly the reason why everyone can't get unlimited data anymore. They try to get their "money's worth" by killing the network. I'm not even surprised that these people have TMo or Sprint, the exact networks who cater to a lower class.

Have you noticed that only the crappiest of networks still has unlimited data around? That's for a reason. They're too damn slow and unreliable to actually make use of the unlimited data.

LOL! Really? Lower class? Moochers? Abusers? Simply because they stream over their network that THEY pay for? LOL Ya ill admit I wouldn't stream either because of the cap but I don't think it automatically makes someone lower class. Its their data, they can stream what they want. Music, movies etc. I didn't know people had to conserve their cell data to make it fast for the other guy. Ill remember that if and when Sprint ever gets faster. LOL
