Unlimited Data is one of the reasons I am being so patient with the deployment of the Sprint LTE.

A 25mbps connection on an iPhone is slow to you? 0_o

Dont be gullible about other carriers, just because you see 40mbps, and 50mbps test sometimes. I also have access to a VZW line, that only gets between 7-16Mbps on LTE in Los Angeles. And one more thing, I, as im sure most people, would take a 25/8 UNLIMITED LTE line over a 50mbps 2GB tiered line ANYWAY. You wont even notice the difference. Tool.

No Sprint LTE here in Manhattan Beach/Redondo Beach yet. Just got the iPhone yesterday because I like the unlimited data plan and LTE imminent rollout. But 3G not good as in unable to hold a call at my house. Question is how long should I wait?

I'm kind of having trouble finding forums and posts and tweets about general Sprint coverage in LA, so I'll guess I'll ask it here. How is Sprint as a carrier for the iPhone 5 in the greater Los Angeles area? I'm currently on an ATT family plan but I'm inching closer to Sprint, what with this hidden LTE roll-out coming along but also I just wanted to know how their 3G is in the area? Any of you guys care to share?

Generally, you will never hear anyone talk about Sprint in regards to call quality, dropped calls, etc. Everyones gripe with Sprint is DATA SPEEDS! 3G specifically. Especially in comparison to AT&T in most areas, it can be awful. Now, if you're in LA. I would definitely recommend Sprint. Two weeks ago I wouldn't have. But, over the last week, Sprint LTE has been popping up literally all over Los Angeles. Unlimited LTE, need I say more? What area in LA are you in? I have absolutely no complaints with Sprint btw. On my old phone, I didnt get a signal to make calls, let along get 3G in my apt. With the iPhone 5, I get 3 bars! Its awesome dude.

I'm in the Alhambra area which is east of LA and south of Pasadena. I'm generally in the LA area so I'm thrilled about the 4G/LTE but I do know it's a long game with a a new contract and I've only ever used the 3G on ATT, so I wanted to also know the 3G speeds area. I'm really attracted to the Unlimited data plan and to future proof myself as well since my use of my iPhone is 90% data intensive.

From a former sprint user in LA, stick with ATT. iPhone 5 is horrible on Sprint. 3G is unusable and no LTE when I was on it. While ATT maybe only 80% voice quality compared to Sprint I never had issues with data on ATT, with Sprint I was not able to retrieve emails, visual voicemail, internet, iMessage would go undeliverable, Siri doesnt work.
Some say they have LTE in LA now but is it fully overlapping coverage or only certain areas? LA is a large city.

Thanks for the input man! So far my research tells me it's just certain areas in LA but this site:

http://www.sensorly.com/map/4G/US/USA/Sprint/lte_310sprint#q=90027

gives me some clue of how the 4G roll out is going. My main concern is that if I go with Sprint for 2 years that I'm playing the long game with hopefully better 4G/LTE down the road, so 3G is paramount for me so hearing it's spotty does help my decision. I just wish I had kept track of my data use to see if I really need unlimited or not.

The problem I was having is that I should be getting 3G in areas with Sprint but sometimes it would go to 2G or whatever the "o" means on the phone just standing still. It wasnt just me but other people had the same experience. Thats why I dropped Sprint, I dont feel I should pay for a a service I will get in the future. The map is handy, although it does not show LTE, from my understanding LTE and 4G are not exactly the same.

Yeah, it is true that 4G and LTE are different but I had thought the symbols on Sensorly meant LTE for 4G. Either way, the news about the 3G is startling since that'll be (I'd assume) what I'd be using heavily... By the by, what are you on?

I have a company issued ATT and personal is now going to be VZ.
