How is this any different than listening to Pandora all day at work? Or watching a live news video feed all day? Those things are totally acceptable, NORMAL usage patterns.

The "abusers" are doing things like using the iPhone to tether their laptop and torrent stuff. A difference in magnitude of bandwidth usage.

Because he purposely wasting data just to abuse The unlimited aspect. Even of its the same amount of database running it during the day it was a waste because he wasnt actually using it.

Once again, I will ask the question:
How can anyone 'abuse' the system?
There is a maximum speed and that determines the maximum amount of data that one device can download or upload during the billin cycle.
How can you physically get more than that?

Sounds like to me apple is partially to blame with the way they insisted on network changes for the iphone for some of At&ts instability.

Been told several times that several high level network guys at AT&T were fired and made an example of when they opposed integration of the iPhone. It was a bull in a china shop for sure. But it made a ton of money for AT&T. They are still sorting out the network load issues. That is what good network guys are paid for and not trying to solve N-dimensional linear equations that kill bottom lines.
