Sprint 4S here and I like my service!! Never drops calls and the data speeds average around 1-1.5 mb/s. Att beats it hands down but I'm unlimited....truly unlimited not att "unlimited" which slows down after 3 gb!! I used 12 gb last month idk how you att guys do it with just 3 gb!!
O and I only pay 130 a month for 2 4S's with 1600 minutes,unlimited calls after 7,unlimited text and data!!
I'm glad Sprint is sticking with the unlimited and hope the 3G starts getting better for you guys with slow data!! Mine was slow at launch of the iPhone but now it's really good!!

Wow! But then again Sprint's network bandwidth will be equivalent of the 300 Baud modem on my Commodore 64C. Oh well...You just can't win....

That is nice. I just use data for occasional email and Pandora. Checking weather and stocks...Not much of anything else. What the hell can you do with such a damn small screen on this phone anyway...

Awesome! Sprint Rules! AT&T is still bitter on losing TMO, So, they screw there customers for it. Also, AT&T CEO loses sleep every night on Apple. :apple:

I'm sticking with Big Yellow and Good Guy Hesse. Network vision should improve 3G speeds for those of us rocking the 4/4s and once it is complete just remember all that glorious spectrum that Sprint scored in the Nextel acquisition.

I get about 20kbps data download speeds (60 up) I have a feeling facetime wouldn't work. And sprint has no plans to work on the network out here either. I wish I could get a .1mbps connection speed connecting to IM would be cool.

what i dont get is why charge for face time in the first place as i am in the uk and i know our space is smaller so signals dont have to travel as far. But why dont your carriers charge for skype and other such simliar services but will gladly charge for facetime. Makes no sense no one i know even really useses facetime.

Everybody seems to forget one important thing.

All these providers worldwide have been the reason why the iPhone/iPad and other phones/tablets are not working on full potential. They're ripping us off from day one because of their monopoly positions. They deliberately drop the performance on their networks, they deliberately ask high prices.

So what all these providers really care about is the money. They really don't care for the costumer experience. Again F### their monopoly strategies. Really f### them.

Why do you think Apple was trying to create her own network service in the first place!

Really depends on where you are at, sprint here runs just fine.

Regardless if their network speed isn't optimal for everyone they are the only company that isn't nickel and diming customers.

We live in a little town called Chicago and the speeds are brutally slow here on my wife's Sprint 4S. No issues with my Verizon 4S.

And if you think it's an isolated issue, check out this 176 page thread on the Sprint forum.

same here..and the phone service was as crappy as the data speeds..constant dropped calls ..im lucky I ever had more than 2-3 bars
I switched to verizon after hearing 6 different estimated completion dates for the tower upgrades and its been solid data and phone service wise.
Sprint is letting a lot of people out of their contracts for free so even they know they are not delivering on what people are paying for.

For those who aren't up to date, once sprints 4G LTE is in more areas, you will see a boost in 3G speeds, so don't count out sprint and their network yet. Stay on ATT and get raped while I'm over here saving money.

How long have you been waiting though??

why do the carriers even get a choice? they're a dumb pipe.

what makes FT different than any other app??

----------

I went to the Verizon store today and got a demo of 4G LTE. [snip] the main advantage I could see is that you could talk while surfing the web. Cool, but personally I had never needed to do this.

i use this feature frequently -- but usually for apps, not web. say youre on the phone and want to check your schedule, your balance, a show time, reservation... and when im on hold (speakerphone) then i do use web often.

for this reason alone im on at&t.

Sweet!

I am so looking forward to using FaceTime with my 0.00/0.01 upload speeds. This is great news!

yeah cause it wont work with .2 mbps download speeds.

Agreed. Sprint is the SLOWEST wireless network I have ever experienced. Its sad when AT&T and T-Mobile EDGE data is faster than Sprint's 3g.

Hopefully 4g LTE solves a lot of the speed issues.

Had Sprint in the past and went to to AT&T for the first iPhone. Still there and will still be there with the new iPhone. AT&T is the only service that gives me reliable service at my house. Sprint and Verizon both suck here.

I don't and have never used FaceTime so this is a non issue for me.

I have several friends who love Sprint. They seem like a quality company.

Not sure what is meant here by using the term quality. By quality, do you mean that Sprint's network coverage is about 50% of AT&T's coverage and 30-35% of Verizon's coverage; and where there is Sprint coverage, their throughput is anywhere from 2%-15% of what Verizon and AT&T's 3G users are currently getting?

Sprint's low prices are there for a reason. They have been and are currently spending a tiny fraction of what Verizon and AT&T are spending to build out coverage and expand network infrastructure. There's a reason Sprint just turned on its first LTE towers in a whopping three or four metro areas within the past week. I wouldn't take a Sprint LTE iPhone if they were giving the hardware away for free.

I was a Sprint user for about four years from 2003-2007 in the Baltimore and Washington, DC areas. Dropped calls and pockets of no service in the middle of densely populated areas were the norm and not the exception. I find it amusing how their network coverage doesn't appear to have expanded all that much from 2007 to today.

I'd rather put up with slow speeds on a consumer friendly network than an abusive carrier who might have a faster network but would rather nickel and dime me because of what app I use and not because I went over my data limit. Sticking it out with AT&T (if they decide to charge extra for 3G/4G FaceTime) is telling them that we want more fees based on what apps we use. And if they could decipher between Netflix/Hulu data, they'd charge us for that too.

Couldn't agree more, vote with your wallet as the saying goes. Anyone who can, should move to Sprint and show them there's a place for companies who value their customers business. Sprint is the only company speaking out against what Verizon and AT&T are trying to do. I've gained some serious respect for Sprint after hearing the companies opinions on the current market.

Stop spreading non-sense, I may not be a Sprint customer but my mom has a family plan under Sprint that includes her and 3 other people. They have almost zero issues with call quality, coverage, and customer service. Meanwhile her bill is significantly cheaper than AT&T and Verizon's comparable services. She lives in the suburbs, which is hardly a prime location for network coverage, yet her phone and internet work just fine. I'm not denying the fact that you may have had spotty coverage, but there's just as many Sprint customer who are happy with their carrier as naysayers who have never tried them. Your opinion is just that, an opinion... total conjecture.

I loved SprintPCS when I had them. I only dumped them when the iPhone 3gs came out (it finally had enough of what I wanted to take the plunge).

But I'm commenting on AT&T and FaceTime. With their new combined data plans, I'm not sure why they would care. You could just as easily set up a MiFi or USB modem and do it from your iDevice or MacBook...

Maybe AT&T will allow it but ONLY with the combined plan...

I suppose it just depends on where you are. My parents have had Sprint since the early 90's, and never had any issues. I've used their Android phones a time or two and there isn't one negative thing I can say about their network, it's fast, reliable and cheap. Maybe the San Antonio area is just one of their better areas out there.

If I were ever to go with a cellular company in which you sign a contract (highly unlikely though), it would definitely be Sprint. They don't squeeze you for every cent you're worth, and actually give good value for what they do charge.

I guess it depends where you are.

Work Phone is on sprint, its an iPhone. Speed isn't half bad for lacking 4G.

Personal phone is a new Galaxy S3 ( finally pulled the trigger. I love real keyboards....but the S3 is so damn nice ),also on sprint. I gotta say at least in my area I get great speed. ( though I know people with sprint who also get dumpster speed ).

Sprint doesnt do data caps either. So if I were to buy an iPhone as a personal phone, Sprint would be my choice in my area. I could see why some people wouldnt be able to deal with Sprints sometimes less than amazing service.
