Sprint's network is a joke so they're not really giving away anything here. But what I don't understand about AT&T is that bandwidth is bandwidth. Why should they care how a customer uses it up or how quickly? If I want to blow a month's bandwidth on one FaceTime call, shouldn't I be able to do that and then whine in forums like that about running out?

Sprints only concern here is getting millions of customers back after losing them to AT&T when the iPhone came into existence.

They are using any tactic to get those customers back. They are literally reloading webpages waiting to see what AT&T and Verizon do so they can use it "against" them.

yeah cause it wont work with .2 mbps download speeds.

You should be complaining to Apple. It is 2012, and the company still doesn't support newer technologies such as WiMAX or LTE in their phones. I have an HTC EVO 3D, and average around 11mbps on the Sprint/Clearwire WiMAX network. Apple is the problem, not Sprint...

Shame, if only Sprint had a better network, I'd jump.
Sprint has a good network if you are using their LTE or WiMAX towers. Perhaps it is time to switch phones to a capable device.
We live in a little town called Chicago and the speeds are brutally slow here on my wife's Sprint 4S. No issues with my Verizon 4S.
The attached WiMAX speed tests were all taken in or near Chicago. Switch to a capable device.
Sprint can barely provide data on their network. No surprise they would not charge for something that won't work for a majority of their customers.
Sprint can. Handset providers need to keep up with data encoding standards, and not leave flagship devices chugging along on CDMA...

Wow! But then again Sprint's network bandwidth will be equivalent of the 300 Baud modem on my Commodore 64C. Oh well...You just can't win....
You could get 10mbps+ from any baud?

Agreed. Sprint is the SLOWEST wireless network I have ever experienced.
Correction, Sprint is the slowest 3G provider.

There's a reason Sprint just turned on its first LTE towers in a whopping three or four metro areas within the past week.
Up until recently, Sprint was building out the WiMAX network which was started back in 2008. Just this year they switched to LTE, which is why they are late to the LTE "game". They are not late to the high speed race however, Sprint actually was the first large 4G provider in the U.S.

Wimax is dead technology even sprint is abandoning it. LTE is coming this year but that doesnt change the fact that sprints 3g network is about as fast as a 2g network.

My wife uses Facetime to her son's 4S using her iPad on Verizon for free. I saw the Verizon connection and thought she had activated a data service but she didn't.

To All complaining about Sprint's speed.

Sprint is rolling out LTE. It is out in 15 cities now and they are bringing on more sites (towers) every month. LTE requires a faster back-haul so their 3G network will benefit from it. I'm not sure if there are any strict rules on posting links but go to www.s4gru.com and look at the recent threads. People have posted much better 3G speeds, and good-great LTE speeds.

As soon as the iPhone LTE comes out I'm jumping ship to Sprint.

What the guy above me said- as soon as the LTE IPhone is released I'm jumping too. And I am not paying an ETF with Verizon- restricting my ability to continue my unlimited data plan to buying an unsubsidized phone and then limiting it by restricting how I use the data it provides is a violation by Verizon of their contract terms with me. I will be demanding my right to arbitration if they try to collect it.
